The City of DeSoto invites the community to join us for a weekend of remembrance, reflection, and appreciation in honor of Memorial Day.

The weekend begins with the Memorial Day Military Appreciation 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, May 23 at 9:00 AM at the ARC at McCowan Park. Participation is free, and residents are encouraged to sign up and save their spot through Eventbrite. An optional $20 donation is available for participants who would like to receive a commemorative t-shirt. Event modifications due to weather will be shared on social media and on the Eventbrite page.

The City will also host its annual Memorial Day Ceremony as we gather to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. The ceremony will be held at Historic Nance Farm located at 1325 Greenbrook Dr., weather permitting. In the event of rain, the ceremony will move indoors to the Town Hall Council Chambers, located at 211 E. Pleasant Run Road.

In observance of Memorial Day, all City of DeSoto offices will be closed on Monday, May 25. City services will resume on Tuesday, May 26 at 8:00 AM.
