We'll see you tonight at the Food Truck Roundup from 5-8pm. Stop by, say hi, and sign up to join us for our next volunteer event at Feed My Starving Children in Schaumburg!

The final Food Truck Round Up of 2026 is tonight! Join us at Library Plaza (1501 Ellinwood Street) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Grab a bite to eat from the food trucks, draw on the chalk wall, and enjoy live music by Griffin Crowder beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Please note that the City has been monitoring the weather and plans to move forward with tonight's event as scheduled. Any additional updates will be communicated through the City of Des Plaines’ social media pages and website.

Ongoing Union Pacific construction at the Lee Street crossing may impact traffic in the area. Parking is available at nearby public garages, including the Des Plaines Public Library Garage, Metropolitan Square Parking Garage and Civic Center Garage. The Des Plaines Lions Club is enjoying the sunshine at National Night Out! Visit our booth to learn more about the club, sign up to volunteer at Feed My Starving Children, and spin the wheel for a fun prize! NNO is taking place between Algonquin Middle School and Forest Elementary School. We will be here until 8pm!

💙💌 Volunteer Hour Recap 💛👓

Thank you to the 18 volunteers who took time out of their Saturday morning to meet us at the Des Plaines Public Library and make a difference both within our local community and more broadly!

Donations across our 10+ eyeglasses recycling locations were sorted and prepared for recycling and repurposing in communities where there is high need across the globe.

Kindness cards were crafted to be included in meal deliveries in our local community through the Loving Lunches program, a local partnership that we're very proud of!

Thank you for everyone who showed up and supported these causes, including several folks who heard about the event from our handouts at the Des Plaines Independence Day Parade!
