The letters VDMA appear on St. Paul’s chancel cross, but what do they mean?

Verbum Domini Manet in Aeternum — translated “The Word of the Lord Endures Forever” — is considered the motto of the Lutheran Reformation, a confident expression of the enduring power and authority of God’s Word.

On this Reformation Sunday, we remember the rich heritage of our Lutheran faith. This historic 88-year-old stained glass window is installed in St. Paul's 1938 church and bears the words "By grace are you saved through faith" and "Luther."

In 1517 Martin Luther chose this day, October 31 or "All Hallows' Eve" — the day before All Saints' Day — to post his 95 theses on the doors of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany, igniting a chain of events that led to the birth of the Protestant Reformation.

🎃🍫 Our church office was overrun with cuteness as tiny trick-or-treaters visited from Parents' Day Out!

And what a *treat* to see PDO teachers sporting "Life is Scary without Jesus" t-shirts.

Just another day at the church office | “Knock, knock.” “Who’s there?” “Comfort dog.”

On this Reformation Sunday, we celebrate the rich heritage of our Lutheran faith.

"Lord Jesus, You are my righteousness; I am Your sin. You took on You what was mine, yet set on me what was Yours. You became what You were not, that I might become what I was not."

~ Martin Luther
