🚨 Public Hearing – Genesee County Data Center (April 16, 2026)

On April 16th, there will be a public hearing on the proposed multi-billion-dollar data center planned for the STAMP site in Genesee Count.

This project is massive in scale, with plans for a multi-building campus that could consume enormous amounts of electricity and water, raising serious environmental concerns among local residents.

At the same time, the deal includes one of the largest tax incentive packages ever proposed, reportedly around $1.46 billion in subsidies, which has many questioning whether the return (roughly 100–125 permanent jobs) is worth the cost to taxpayers.

There are also ongoing concerns about how the environmental review is being handled, with critics pointing out potential conflicts of interest and whether the impacts have been fully addressed.

Supporters argue the project could bring long-term investment, infrastructure upgrades, and new revenue into the county. However many locals aren’t convinced the trade-offs make sense.
