Hamburg Mutts for Freedom is an all breed, volunteer driven, 501(c)(3) non- profit organization founded by Natalie Pipitone Howes. We work to rescue many wonderful, loving dogs who would otherwise be forgotten and left to die in high kill shelters. Many of the dogs we save are sitting in high kill "compounds" (not even a shelter) that are not accessible to the public. Their only chance is a rescu

With the warmer weather, Gates has been enjoying some fun adventures with her foster mom—and she’s thriving! 🌸

🚶‍♀️ Gates walks beautifully on leash and loves her neighborhood strolls.
🚗 She’s gone from unsure in the car to excited and happy to go out.
🏬 She even took a weekend trip to Home Depot, where she made new friends all over the store—and earned plenty of compliments for being such a good girl!

📣Calling All Western New York Businesses!

Hamburg Mutts for Freedom is looking for community partners to help our rescue dogs get seen—and ultimately adopted into loving forever homes.

We’re not asking for donations. We’re simply looking for local businesses that want to make a difference in a way that fits their space and style.

Here are a few ideas:

☕ Feature an adoptable dog on coffee sleeves, bakery boxes, or napkins.

🐾 Display a “Hamburg Mutt of the Week” flyer near your register, on a table tent, or community board. We’ll create the design—you simply print and display it!

🏪 Host a small adoption pop-up featuring one or two dogs. These are especially valuable for pups who become overwhelmed at large adoption events.

📸 Are you a photographer or artist? Help us showcase our dogs with beautiful photos or portraits for adoption profiles.

🏡 Are you a real estate agent? Include an adoptable dog in your newsletter, social media, or at open houses.

Have another idea? We’d love to hear it! We’re always open to creative partnerships.

Meet Kesha 🐾

42 pounds of goofy charm, zoomies, and sweetness 💕

Kesha is a 4-year-old girl who has settled beautifully into foster life and is proving to be an easy, lovable companion. She’s the kind of dog who can happily entertain herself out in the yard, running around and soaking up the sunshine, but she’s also more than happy to join in if you want to play too. 🌿🎾

This silly girl is completely housebroken and has excellent house manners. She knows “sit” and “go,” sleeps quietly in her crate all night without a single issue, and is overall just an easy dog to live with. Her foster family is even working on teaching her that supervising dinner from the table isn’t necessary 🍽️😂

Kesha is wonderful on walks, rides great in the car, and stays calm when people come and go — no excessive barking or chaos, just a relaxed, goofy girl happy to be part of the family. 🚗🐶

She has a fun, playful personality while still being calm and well-mannered in the home, making her the perfect mix of companion and adventure buddy.

This handsome boy came from the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter, where he was very overwhelmed—but look at him now. In a home environment, Cody is starting to shine ✨ With a little patience and love, his fun, loyal, and full-of-life personality is coming out more every single day.

🎩 Meet Langston, an approximately 9-year-old gentleman who has truly mastered the art of taking life as it comes.
