🐾 Meet Romeo 🐾

Some dogs want treats. Some dogs want toys.

Romeo just wants you. 💜

This sweet boy's favorite place in the world is curled up next to his person or being held like a baby while he soaks up every ounce of love and affection he can get. If you're looking for a loyal little shadow who wants to be part of everything you do, Romeo may be your perfect match. He's one of those dogs that really tests our ability to not "foster" fail; but we know his person is just waiting for him!

Romeo is wonderful with cats, other dogs, and kids, making him an easy fit for many different types of families. His gentle nature and desire to connect with people are truly something special.

In fact, Romeo has shown qualities that make us believe he has incredible potential as an Emotional Support Animal or therapy companion. He is calm through storms, fireworks, sirens, and other everyday surprises that many dogs find overwhelming. He does well off leash for hiking, trails walks, etc. He's also officially road-trip tested and approved (with a little help from Bonine along the way 😉).

While Romeo loves people deeply, he can be shy in busy new environments and around more boisterous men. Because of this, we do not feel service work is the right path for him. Instead, we believe his future lies with someone willing to continue building his confidence while helping him learn that being apart from his favorite person is okay too. His affectionate nature is one of his greatest strengths, but he'll need a handler committed to ensuring that devotion doesn't develop into separation anxiety.

With continued training, confidence building, and a patient family, Romeo has all the makings of an incredible go-anywhere companion and best friend.

He is 8mo old, neutered, and up to date on his shots!! He weighs about 32lbs currently and we expect him to land around 35/40lbs full grown at a healthy weight.

Romeo loves water and stands well for baths and nail trims with the dremmel. He does not care for the blow dryer, but his coat does not require extensive drying.

A quick update for our Turning Tails family 💛

We will be out of town and a little quiet on messages and comments until June 3rd.

One of our rescue pups will be undergoing surgery on June 1st, and while we’ll be fully focused on making sure they get safely through their procedure and recovery, June 2nd also happens to be our 3-year wedding anniversary. We’re taking these couple of days to be present for both our rescue baby and our family.

If you’ve been looking for a way to support, we are still covering some last-minute surgery expenses. Any donation, no matter the size, helps ease the cost of care.

There’s something new growing here at Turning Tails Inc. and it comes straight from the heart.

We’re so proud to introduce Operation Gemstone.

Every once in a while, a dog comes into rescue with something truly special. A steady presence. A natural intuition. A quiet way of knowing exactly what someone needs. These are the dogs with the potential to become so much more than companions. They have the ability to become lifelines.

Operation Gemstone was created to help identify dogs with service or emotional support potential and match them with individuals who need their unique gifts most, at low or no cost. We believe the right dog can change a life. They can bring stability during chaos, comfort during grief, confidence during fear, and unconditional support through some of life’s hardest moments.

But building something like this takes resources.

To help fund this mission, All 4 Paws will now be offering training sessions, with proceeds going directly toward Operation Gemstone. Every session booked helps us evaluate, train, and prepare deserving dogs for futures filled with purpose while making these placements accessible to the people who need them.

We’re also asking our community to help us launch this dream.

• Veterinary care and health clearances
• Placement support for recipients
• Ongoing development of this life changing program

Some dogs are rescued for a reason. Sometimes that reason is to go on and rescue someone else.

✨ Meet Coraline ✨

Coraline is a 3-month-old Schnoodle (Giant Schnauzer × Standard Poodle) looking for her forever family! 🖤

This sweet girl already has such a fun, loving personality. She has a docked tail, loves car rides, and is doing wonderfully with basic obedience training so far. She even walks nicely on the leash! She is great with cats, dogs, kids, and stands well for grooming.

She’s currently working on kennel training and polishing up her house training; but remember, she’s still just a baby and learning every day!

This adorable 2 year old Papillon mix is looking for a family to call her own 💛

Piper can be a little shy at first, but once she feels safe and comfortable, her sweet personality starts to shine through. She’s gentle, loving, and happiest when she’s close to her people.

This precious girl does well with cats, dogs, and kids, making her a wonderful fit for a family looking for a calm and loving companion. She enjoys the simple things in life like soft blankets, quiet cuddles, and having someone to love.

She may be small, but she has such a big heart and deserves a home where she can continue building confidence and feel safe for the rest of her life.

🐾 Help Us Help This Sweet Baby — And Continue Saving Lives 🐾

This precious 4-month-old French Bulldog puppy came into rescue already fighting through something no baby should have to endure. 💔

She was born with a dermoid on her lower eyelid, which means hair is growing directly against her eye. Every single blink causes those hairs to scrape her cornea, leaving her with painful abrasions, constant irritation, and the need for ongoing medications just to stay somewhat comfortable.

Without surgery, the condition will continue causing her pain and could eventually lead to permanent damage to her eye. The only true fix is surgery to fully remove the dermoid so she can finally live comfortably and pain-free.

Her surgery is estimated at $600, and at the same time, we are also preparing to travel to Lake Placid to assist with another rescue effort for animals in need. Between fuel, transport costs, medical care, and rescue supplies, expenses are piling up quickly, but these animals deserve every chance we can give them.

We are humbly asking our community for help so we can continue showing up for animals who have nowhere else to turn. Every donation, share, and kind word truly matters. No amount is too small, and if donating is not possible right now, sharing this post helps more than you know. 🐾

🐾 Meet Milo 🐾

Milo is still looking for his furrever home, and we’ve learned so much about this sweet little guy during his time with us. 💛

Milo is an 8-month-old Shih Tzu/Chihuahua mix with the cutest face and an even sweeter personality once he settles in. He can be shy at first and needs a little time to build trust, but once he does, he becomes the ultimate cuddle bug who just wants to be close to his people. 🥹

This handsome boy is:
✔️ Basic obedience trained
✔️ Kennel trained
✔️ House trained
✔️ Up to date on shots

After extensive evaluations, slow introductions, and having him live side-by-side with our personal pack for several days, we feel confident saying Milo could absolutely thrive with the right canine companion. We think he would do best with a calm female dog or a very laid-back male dog who respects boundaries and won’t overwhelm him.

Milo does well with cats and kids, too. 🐱🐶👧

One thing to note: Milo can be vocal in his kennel if another animal walks by. He likes to “talk” and throw a little tantrum, but it does not escalate beyond that. His owner-reported behavioral concerns have not been able to be replicated in our care; we truly believe that with patience, consistency, and clear boundaries, Milo will continue gaining confidence and blossom into an amazing lifelong companion. ✨

Milo also recently had dental work completed and is doing great with no ongoing concerns.

🌸 Mother’s Day Fundraiser 🌸

This Mother’s Day, we want to take a moment to celebrate moms of every kind and the love, sacrifice, and endless care they give every single day. ❤️

Motherhood is beautiful, but for so many stray and abandoned animals, it can also be incredibly hard. We see exhausted mama dogs trying to keep their puppies safe, terrified young cats having litter after litter outdoors, and babies born into situations where there simply aren’t enough homes or resources.

At Turning Tails Inc., we believe one of the kindest things we can do for animals is help prevent that cycle before it starts.

This Mother’s Day, we’re raising funds for spay and neuter surgeries to help sweet pups and kitties avoid becoming mothers before they’re ready, or from having to continue producing litter after litter just to survive.

And okay… yes, we’ll admit it… part of our goal is also to prevent a future army of tiny kittens plotting world domination from someone’s garage. 😅🐾
