I was perfectly happy WITHOUT Jesus.

I was perfectly content NOT living for Jesus. I wasn't sitting at a bar at 2 a.m. looking for meaning... I was looking for a game of billiards. But none of us were walking around saying "I need Jesus." He came and said, "No, you need me."

Are you salty? 🧂

Last week we looked at what it means to be the salt of the earth—stepping out of the shaker, preserving our community, and pushing back against the darkness.

Salt in a shaker doesn't do any good! 🧂 If you want to actually preserve meat and draw out the impurities, you can't just sprinkle a little salt on it and hope for the best—you have to rub it into the grain. 🥩

The same goes for us. It’s incredibly tempting to build our own ivory towers and insulate ourselves from the messiness of culture, but Jesus didn't call us to sit comfortably in a bubble. He called us to get into the mix.
