UFCW Local 1445 out in support of the REI National Boycott this weekend. Thank you to our community allies for coming out on this rainy holiday weekend to support the workers at REI fighting for a first Union contract.

Yesterday Business Agent Cheryl Ferullo spoke at a municipal breakfast held by the Greater Boston Labor Council. City and state officials from Somerville, Everett, Watertown, Newton and Medford came to hear from labor leaders about important issues facing workers.

Cheryl spoke about the many issues our members face at the self checkout machines, from understaffing to customer conflicts. She encouraged these officials to support common sense regulations on self checkout machines to improve experiences in the grocery store for workers and customers.

Local 1445 joined with REI Union’s national REI Boycott today and will continue for the next week.

We are engaging customers to commit to not shop during REI’s biggest sale, sending a strong message that refusing to deal with their workers fairly will hurt their bottom line!

STAND WITH REI UNION WORKERS: No contract. No sale.

REI Co-op workers have been organizing for the past four years and are STILL fighting for a first contract. Instead of living up to their supposed co-op values, REI has continued to union-bust and delay negotiations.

Skip the anniversary sale happening through May 25th and gear up with local outfitters or buy directly from brands instead.

No sale is worth funding REI’s corporate agenda. ✊
