🐴❤️ MARVIN'S MIRACLE: A STORY OF HOPE, HEALING & NEVER GIVING UP! ❤️🐴

At Rush Creek Sanctuary, we believe every life deserves a chance. And our precious little Marvin is living proof of what happens when someone refuses to give up. ❤️

Marvin came to us through a court seizure with the Texas Livestock Protection Association (TLPA), and his condition was absolutely heartbreaking.

He was severely malnourished, with his ribs protruding from his tiny body. His little body was covered in cuts, and one of his hooves was so severely deformed that it curled upward like an elf's shoe, turning back toward his leg. He could barely walk.

💔 Marvin was one of those animals that many people would have simply said, "Just euthanize him."

Why? Because saving him would take too much time, too much work, too much money, and too much effort.

But we saw something different. We saw a little life worth fighting for.

And thankfully, so did our incredible sanctuary veterinarian, Dr. Amanda Lawson. ❤️

Dr. Lawson went above and beyond for Marvin. She took him to a specialist, helped him through multiple surgeries, and dedicated countless hours to giving this precious little guy the opportunity to walk again.

And look at Marvin today! 🐴❤️

He is WALKING! He is gaining weight, getting chunky, full of energy, and enjoying the life he always deserved!

The transformation is absolutely incredible.

I cannot begin to express how grateful we are to Dr. Lawson for her compassion, dedication, and tireless work. She is one of those extraordinary individuals who doesn't just see an injured or neglected animal. She sees a life that matters.

Marvin's story is about so much more than rescuing a miniature horse.

It's about believing when others don't.

It's about fighting for those who cannot fight for themselves.

It's about understanding that sometimes the most beautiful miracles require the greatest amount of patience, sacrifice, and love.

❤️ Not every rescue story has a happy ending, but every animal deserves compassion and a thoughtful chance.

To everyone who has ever been told an animal wasn't worth the time, the trouble, or the expense, we hope Marvin's story reminds you that sometimes the ones who need the most help have the most incredible transformations.

Thank you, Dr. Lawson, for never giving up on Marvin. You helped give this little boy his life back, and we will forever be grateful.

🌾🐴 ALFALFA HAY VENDORS & GROWERS NEEDED! 🐴🌾

Rush Creek Sanctuary | Decatur, Texas

We are reaching out to our wonderful community in hopes of finding a new alfalfa hay supplier or grower for our equine rescue sanctuary.

Unfortunately, we recently lost our current hay vendor, and we are now searching for a reliable source of quality alfalfa hay at reasonable prices.

At Rush Creek Sanctuary, we care for numerous rescued horses, including many that come to us severely neglected, malnourished, or starving. Proper nutrition is a critical part of their recovery, and alfalfa hay plays an important role in helping these beautiful animals regain their health and strength. ❤️

We are especially interested in connecting with local farmers, hay growers, distributors, or vendors who may offer nonprofit discounts, rescue pricing, or special programs supporting equine rescue organizations and veterans.

🇺🇸 Our sanctuary is dedicated to helping veterans, first responders, and their families through our equine-assisted healing programs, while also providing rescued horses with the care and second chances they deserve.

📍 Located in Decatur, Texas (Wise County)

If you grow, sell, or distribute alfalfa hay, or know someone who does, we would be incredibly grateful for your recommendations or assistance.

We purchase hay on an ongoing basis and would love to establish a long-term relationship with a dependable supplier who believes in our mission.

🐴💜 Our Precious Therapy Draft Horses Have Stolen Our Hearts! 💚🐴

Today was one of those days that reminded me just how special our beautiful draft horses truly are! ❤️

I spent most of the day inside working on projects for Rush Creek Sanctuary, and apparently, I had quite the audience! 😂🐴

Throughout the entire day and even into the evening, our precious babies were standing outside, peeking through the windows at me! Not just one window, but about FIVE different windows around the house!

They would put their big, beautiful faces right up against the glass, stare through the blinds, and just watch me for the longest time. It was absolutely adorable! 🥰 I couldn't help but laugh and smile every time I looked up and saw another sweet face looking back at me.

These gentle giants are so much more than beautiful horses. They have the most incredible hearts and an extraordinary connection with people. ❤️

They are incredibly social, affectionate, curious, and genuinely love being around humans. And that is exactly what makes them so special in the work we do with our veterans, first responders, and families.

They have an amazing ability to connect with people who may be struggling through some of life's most difficult moments. Sometimes, all it takes is standing beside one of these magnificent animals, feeling their peaceful presence, or looking into their gentle eyes to find a little comfort and hope.

They don't judge. They don't ask questions. They simply love and accept you right where you are. 💜

We are so blessed to have these precious souls as part of our Rush Creek Sanctuary family. They bring healing, laughter, peace, and unconditional love into our lives every single day.

And apparently, they also believe they should be supervising all of my office work! 😂🐴❤️

We love these big babies more than words can express!

🐴💜 A BUSY WEEK AT RUSH CREEK SANCTUARY! 💚🐴

What an incredibly busy and productive week we've had caring for our precious rescues! There is always so much to do when you have animals that have come from neglect, starvation, and difficult circumstances. Every one of them deserves the very best care we can provide. ❤️

We want to give a very special thank you to our amazing veterinarian, Dr. Amanda Lawson! 🩺🐎

Dr. Lawson goes above and beyond for our animals, making sure they receive the medical attention, veterinary evaluations, dental checks, and ongoing care they need to heal and thrive. Her compassion, dedication, and expertise mean the world to us. We are so blessed to have her caring for our rescues!

We also want to give a huge thank you to Vince and Maida for coming out and helping us through this busy week! From helping with the horses during their hoof trimmings to assisting with veterinary visits, dental checks, and everything else that needed to be done, you were right there when we needed you.

Your willingness to give your time, lend a helping hand, and care for these animals means more than words can express. 💕

Running a sanctuary is not easy. There are long days, unexpected challenges, and countless responsibilities. But having wonderful people who truly care makes all the difference.
