TLC clients: There will be no parenting class tomorrow Friday, October 30th due to staff in-service training.

Please note that there will be no material assistance available as well.

Parenting classes and material assistance will resume next Tuesday, November 3rd.

Did you know that by week 14 babies can detect different flavors from what you eat through the surrounding amniotic fluid?

Primitive taste buds start to appear around 8 weeks of gestation.

By weeks 14 to 16, the taste buds connect to nerve cells and can detect subtle flavor molecules in the amniotic fluid.

Babies swallow amniotic fluid as the pregnancy progresses, tasting what the mother eats.

Studies show babies make “laughter-face” reactions to sweet flavors like carrots and “cry-face” reactions to bitter ones like kale.

Our center is dedicated to meeting the diverse needs of those who face unplanned pregnancies.

We offer free pregnancy testing and free ultrasounds between 7 and 21 weeks of pregnancy.

We also offer parenting classes, both virtual and limited in-person, four times per week that also include free material resources.

Our fall potty training classes were held last week. Registered TLC clients who signed up for and attended the class were eligible for training supplies after the class wrapped up.

These supplies include a potty seat, training underwear, a book, a sticker chart, and pullups.

Missed this session? Look for another potty training class early next year.

Who can sign up? Registered clients of The Lennon Center who have a child that is at least two years old and is actively starting to potty train.
