Our potty training class recently wrapped up and these are the goodies that our parenting class families received for participating.

Each child was given a potty seat, training underwear, a book, pullups, flushable wipes, and a sticker chart.

Missed our last class? Be on the lookout for another session coming later this summer.

Who can attend? Registered clients of The Lennon Center who have a child that is at least two years old and is actively starting to potty train.

We recently received an abundance of beautifully handmade blankets!

From quilts to crochet, we filled up our bins in our resource room and are able to lovingly cover our client's children in these comfy cozy blankets.

TLC clients that live in the City of Detroit: If you are pregnant, a new mother, or you are caring for an infant under the age of one you can get free roundtrip non-emergency rides to prenatal appointments or postpartum doctor visits because you live in the city of Detroit.

• Call the Rides to Care call center at (313) 876-0000 to schedule your pick up
• Call center hours Monday-Friday from 8am-6pm and Saturday from 8am-2pm
• All riders with children must bring their own car seat
• You will need to provide your name, contact information, home address and the address of your doctor to schedule
• Rides can be scheduled for up to one hour before the appointment or a week in advance
• Pick up times will be scheduled based on the time of your appointment and be sure to schedule enough time to get there
• Rides will be available anytime during normal clinic hours

Public service announcement from the FDA:

Target is voluntarily recalling Up & Up Fragrance Free and Up & Up Fresh Cucumber Scented Baby Wipes following customer complaints of product discoloration, and FDA testing that identified the presence of harmful bacteria product samples.

Use of products contaminated with Burkholderia cepacia complex and Burkholderia gladioi may result in serious and life-threatening infections. The products are predominantly used on newborns, infants, and young children who are particularly vulnerable to opportunistic infection due to their immature immune systems.

In healthy individuals, use of the product on skin with minor lesions will more likely result in local infections, whereas in immunocompromised individuals, newborns, infants and young children, the infection is more likely to spread into the bloodstream, potentially leading to life-threatening sepsis or pneumonia.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and return them to any Target store for a full refund. Consumers can contact Target Guest Relations at 1-800-440-0680 from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. CT daily for more information.

Are you currently pregnant and in need of baby items?

Babies R Precious will be hosting a free community baby shower and resource fair for pregnant moms or moms with babies under 3 months on July 25th at their office 25121 Ford Rd, Dearborn from 11a-2pm. They will have food, raffles, and resources available.

Babies R Precious is a maternal infant health program that offers services for pregnant moms or moms who have an infant under one year and have Medicaid or are Medicaid eligible.

Their services include: social work and nursing services, home visits and telehealth, education programs - childbirth, breastfeeding, parenting, nutritional, and safe sleep, as well as employment and housing resources, and support groups.

They also provide referrals to doulas, prenatal and pediatrician care, counseling, and food banks.

Could you please help us fill our very empty shelves?

We are in great need of size 5 and size 6 diapers as well as unscented wipes. Our current clients are very much in need of both of these sizes and your help would be greatly appreciated!

You can order from our Walmart baby registry, https://www.walmart.com/registry/BR/065e9dae-4dcc-423e-a36c-641b4143b261 and they will be shipped right to our door or pick up some diapers on your next shopping trip and drop them off at our office.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Thursday, June 4th for a wonderful event at Downey Brewing Company in Dearborn! Your presence, enthusiasm, and support made the evening truly special.

We are in gratitude for Rudy, our incredible trivia host and we also had the privilege of showcasing several local artists at our event - Unforgettable Love Candles and Chaldean Catholic Crafts. Thank you to our guests who supported these artists and their beautiful work.

Did you know that 2,200 children die annually from injuries within the home?

Every year nearly 93,000 children are seen at the ER for stair related injuries.

Of the parents surveyed, 43% say they haven't secured TVs and furniture to prevent them from tipping over.

Install safety gates to keep children from falling down the staircases and window guards or stops to prevent falls from windows.

Childproofing your home by installing hardware mounted gates at the top and bottom of stairs, securing heavy furniture to walls, and using window guards or stops that limit opening to 4 inches or less.

TLC clients, we will be running potty training classes next week! Look for an email with more info.

Registered TLC clients who sign up for the class will be eligible for training supplies after attending.

Please note that everyone is welcome to watch the series, but we will only have supplies available for our currently registered clients who sign up and attend the required classes.

After attending, clients will receive a potty seat, training underwear, Pull-Ups, sticker reward chart, and a book.

Class will be held at our regular parenting class time of 11am on Zoom.

Who can sign up? Registered clients who have a child that is at least two years old and is actively starting to potty train.
