A very powerful message that most of us cannot relate to. If you would, please hold on to these words. We owe you all. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.

We have tickets and we are collecting shoes once again. Why not grab your $5 raffle tickets and do some closet cleanout at the same time?!?! We are proud to be partnering again with Pluck A Duck and Run For Ryan on each of these annual events. All proceeds from our ticket sales and our shoe donations goes directly to our sponsorship of veterans wreaths for our 4 local cemeteries. For more information on how you can get involved with Quiet Corner Veterans Support Coalition drop a comment or PM us. Stay up on our upcoming events at www.qcvsc.org. If you would rather take the quick route and donate wreaths directly, go to www.wreathsacrossameric.org/CT0149P
As always, thank you for your continued support growing this mission and honoring those who served and sacrificed for us. GOD BLESS AMERICA and GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!

FROM THE WINY RADIO NEWSROOM: FROM THE AMERICAN LEGION POST 13: PUTNAM, CT: The Mayotte-Viens Post #13 of the American Legion recently made a $3,000 donation to the Danielson Veterans Coffee House at one of their regular breakfast gatherings, on Tuesday morning, 21 April 2026, at the Putnam Lodge of Elks. The donation will help pay for the meals that are served every Tuesday morning to more than 100 attendees. The DVCH provides a comfortable location for all veterans, both men and women of any age, to meet, have breakfast, socialize and connect with one another while providing and discussing information regarding veterans& #39; benefits and services through federal and state agencies and programs.
According to their President, Fred Ruhlemann, a US Navy Vietnam Era veteran, “we are in our 12 th year of operation, and going strong.” The DVCH also does monthly food distributions to needy recipients at the Farmers Market Pavilion. In Putnam.
According to Post #13 Commander Michael Rocchetti, a USAF Iraq War Veteran, “We are fortunate to have this organization in Putnam. The breakfast meals that the DVCH provide to the veterans are a special treat, especially for those on fixed- incomes, that can’t afford to eat at restaurants”.
“We greatly appreciate the generous donation made by Post 13. It will really help us feed the local veterans” added Mr Ruhlemann.
The Mayotte-Viens Post 13 American Legion was chartered in Putnam CT in 1919, shortly after the end of World War 1. The American Legion is the nation’s largest veteran’s organization, and it stands on four pillars: national security, veteran’s affairs and rehabilitation, children & youth, and Americanism. All veterans are encouraged to join, and can apply on-line at: https://www.legion.org

I want to thank our wonderful members and volunteers here who joined me to present a check to the Quiet Corner Peer Support Group on behalf of the Quiet Corner Veterans Support Coalition. We are so fortunate to have this organization in our communtiy for our veterans and first responders. Through our work with groups like Wreaths Across America, we are able to give back to our community throughout the year. I want to thank Dr. Keven McNeill, Founder and David Izzo, Team Leader, and of course Hope, for the tour of the wellness center and the great conversation! They are on the forefront of ending the stigma around mental health for those who keep us safe, secure and free! As I have said many times, "We Owe Them All" and now this wonderful group of men and women volunteering their time are providing the support for those who take care of all of us. Great job gentlemen! We are proud to support your efforts and we wish you all the best on your mission!!!
