Crayons to Classrooms

Crayons to Classrooms C2C is a free Teacher Resource Center serving teachers and students from under-resourced K-12 schools in the Miami Valley.

In partnership with local businesses, individual donors, and community volunteers, C2C lifts at-risk children’s level and love of learning by collecting and distributing donated supplies and surplus products for use in the classroom. Teachers from eligible schools are invited to “shop” for what they need in our retail-style free store in Dayton, Ohio.

Classroom Solutions resource highlight: Anatomy Kits! 🫀🔬

Last month, healthcare students in Ms. Gerhardt’s class at Mad River Middle School put their knowledge to the test by placing organs in the correct positions of the human body.

The Tait Foundation provided a grant to Crayons to Classrooms to support early learners in Montgomery County. This grant ensures that our resource center is stocked with necessary undergarments, paper products, cleaning supplies, and SEL materials for teachers of over 2,000 PreK students.

By supporting our mission of securing and distributing school supplies at no cost to teachers of students in need, the Foundation helps provide young learners with the tools necessary to participate and thrive in the classroom.

Congratulations to 8 Miami Valley schools who reached 100% participation at our teacher resource center during the 2025-26 school year! Our staff and board members enjoyed bringing them breakfast yesterday to celebrate. 💯🍩🥯🍓

Our 100% schools are Blairwood Elementary, Brantwood Elementary, Clark Education Center Enon Campus, Clark Education Center Pleasant Campus, Dayton SMART Elementary, International School at Residence Park, Mad River Early Childhood Center, and Trotwood-Madison ELC!

Last night, we let the good times roll for our Mardi Gras themed volunteer appreciation event! 🎭🎷🥁

During the 2025-26 school year, our amazing volunteers spent nearly 12,000 hours supporting our mission! We celebrated by playing bingo, crafting, and enjoying pizza from Dewey's Pizza - University of Dayton.

Thank you to our volunteers for adding a little extra magic, music, and joy to our resource center all year long! 💜💚💛

As we wrap up Teacher Appreciation Week, we want to thank people who made it extra special for Miami Valley teachers! 🍎⭐

Thank you to DiamondDaiquiris for providing free drinks for our teachers after their shopping trip, and Spectrum New Beginnings for creating a relaxing space in our office for teachers to get massages!

Teacher Appreciation Week may be ending, but the need for support in our kid's classrooms continues year-round. Thank you for helping us celebrate and support the educators who pour so much into our students each day.

Teachers deserve free coffee every day, and Travelin' Tom's Coffee helped make that happen during Teacher Appreciation Week! Between overflowing carts, delicious drinks, and fun giveaway prizes, we hope our teachers know just how appreciated they truly are. 💙
