Our 6th annual Juneteenth Community Celebration brought the Lake Norman area together for an unforgettable night of joy and reflection.

From moving live music and local Black-owned vendors to amazing food and smiles across our campus, the energy was unmatched!

All Town of Davidson municipal offices, including the Davidson Town Hall and Community Center located at 251 South Street and the Davidson Public Safety building located at 216 South Main Street, will be closed on Friday, June 19, 2026, in observance of Juneteenth. Offices will re-open on Monday, June 22, 2026, for regular business hours, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The 6th Annual Juneteenth Celebration will take place on Friday, June 19, from 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Ada Jenkins Center, 212 Gamble Street. The celebration includes local vendors, Black-owned businesses, live music, storytelling, free health screenings, food & dessert! Plus, you’ll be able to check out their new mural and get information about their after-school program. See you there!

🎶Did you know Tosco Music partners with businesses and community groups to put live music into the community at over 100 events and activities a year, at typically 30+ locations, and the majority are FREE? If your business or group can create a performance opportunity for local musicians at your event, let’s talk!

Small time commitment, massive community impact!

The Ada Jenkins Center has two incredible volunteer opportunities open right now:

Mobile Food Pantry Volunteer 🛒
WHAT: Assist with our mobile grocery distribution.
COMMITMENT: Just 1.5 to 2.5 hours per shift.
WHEN: The 1st, 3rd, and 4th Friday of the month.

Camp LEARN Works Classroom Volunteer 🎒
WHAT: Help elementary students sharpen their reading skills and stay engaged.
WHEN: A 3-week commitment from July 27-Aug 14

☀️ Applications for Camp LEARN Works Summer 2026 are officially open!

We’re looking for enthusiastic Volunteer Classroom Assistants to support 1st–5th graders alongside our Camp Coordinators. Help us make reading fun and prepare students for the 2026–2027 school year!

🗓️Dates: July 27 – August 14
⏳Application Deadline: July 10th

✔️Returning Volunteers: If you were a regular weekly volunteer during the 2025–2026 program year and are in good standing, you can skip the queue and sign up directly!
