We exist to help people build lasting solutions for economic stability. The individuals we serve are working to build economic independence.

We are a human service agency serving people in the communities of Cornelius, Davidson, and Huntersville. Ada Jenkins Center is the only center in our area that provides comprehensive services under one roof:

-emergency rent and utility assistance
-a food pantry
-case management services
-financial coaching
-employment and education coaching
-housing coaching
-after-school education and enrichment

While our services are free, we do not provide handouts.

Swimming, sprinting, pedaling for a cause!

We’re absolutely thrilled to announce that the 2026 Trane Lake Davidson Triathlon by Trane Technologies raised an incredible $43,559.19 for the Ada Jenkins Center, topping last year’s total by $84!

This brings our four-year total to more than $145,000 raised for AJC!

We want to send a massive thank you to Trane Technologies and every single triathlete participant who swam, biked and ran for a cause! Your dedication, sweat and community spirit makes a huge difference for our neighbors in need.

BREAKING BRUNCH NEWS! 🥞

We’re officially ONE MONTH AWAY from a county-wide food fight in the area, and we want you to join it!

The annual Ada Jenkins Center Food Fight Competition is back for Brunch Edition on Saturday, November 14th (10:00 AM – 1:00 PM), and we’re looking for local culinary champions to enter the ring!

Whether you’re a professional chef, a local restaurant, caterer, or a legendary home cook, this is your chance to showcase your skills and compete for “Best Of” bragging rights in one of these categories:

• 🥩 Protein Power – Meats, egg casseroles, and savory protein staples.
• 🥣 Grits and Hits – Side dishes, salads, and iconic southern staples.
• 🥞 Griddle Weight – Pancakes, French toast, waffles, and crepes.
• 🥐 Sweet Victory – Pastries, coffee cakes, and fruit-forward delights.

Best of all, you’ll be cooking for a fantastic cause: helping us raise money to provide vital support for our neighbors in need across Mecklenburg County.

Mark your calendars for the Ada Jenkins Literacy Festival on Thursday, October 15!

In honor of National Book Month, we’re bringing families and local literature together at the Ada Jenkins Center for books and activities that celebrate reading. Everyone from toddlers to grandparents will find something to enjoy.

Bring the kids out to meet inspiring local and regional authors, explore unique book displays, and participate in hands-on literacy activities. Did we mention it’s COMPLETELY FREE and open to everyone in the community?

We’re incredibly grateful to announce that the Ada Jenkins Center has received a $10,000 donation from Publix Super Markets Charities!

We’re still thinking back to Love Week 2026 with Elevation Church - Lake Norman ! Over the summer, a group of volunteers with Elevation Church visited the Ada Jenkins center to help us prep our hallways for a refresh.

The volunteers spent time cleaning the hallway and preparing for an upcoming paint job. We’re so grateful for them!

We want to send a huge thank you to the John Harris yoga group for putting their mindfulness into action!

The group came together to some landscaping at campus in Davidson and donate essential supplies to the Ada Jenkins Center Food Pantry, helping stock the shelves for our neighbors in need. Yoga is all about connection, and this is what community connection looks like!
