Dauphin-Middle Paxton Historical Society

Dauphin-Middle Paxton Historical Society We are a non-profit organization with an all volunteer staff and committees. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend both of these!

The society has monthly meetings and a program on the 4th Thursday and an Open House on the 2nd Sunday. There is a museum and library housed in one of the rooms in the Old Dauphin School House. During scheduled open houses, our growing collection is open for research.

Best Name- Riverside Pet Club and Resort with “Bow Chili Wow Wow” Jen Beard & Jess Beard

Best Costume- James Batug as Elvis with “Hunka Hunka Burnin’ Chili”

Spiciest- Emily Fagan “Death by a Thousand Chilis” - 2nd year in a row

Tomorrow is the BIG DAY for the Chili Cook-Off!! Saddle up and ride on in with your "4-H Blazing Saddlebags"! But don't let them go "Up In Smoke" like Cheech & Chong or you will really be wondering what's in "That Voodoo That You Do Chili"! I guess you will just have to cross that "Old Iron Bridge (chili)" when you get to it! Then you can comfy up with some "Cozy Mountain Chili" and feel snug as a bug in a rug!

Only two more days until the 3rd Annual Chili Cook-Off! Will you be there? Or are you chicken like the "Cluck Cluck Chili"? Or maybe you are afraid of "Just A Peck Of Heat"? Perhaps the "Bow Chili Wow Wow" will have you barking! That would definitely be "Grounds For Qualification"! Even if you have "Been There Done That", just do it again! You know it's in your "Soule-Man's"!

Hey! It's still winter! Come out and warm up like you're at the beach with some "Burning Starfish" or "Surf & Turf Chili"! When you try the "White Bean Chili" you will feel like you are on the white sandy beaches of Florida! So hurry and book your trip to the Chili Cook-Off with your "Chaos Coordinator Chili" Travel Advisor and jump on that "Mean Bean Machine" to Middle Paxton Elementary!

We sure have had some "Chili Weather" lately! "Corn You Believe It?' Maybe some "Hunka Hunka Burnin' Chili" could warm you up! Or maybe some "Queen's Chili...Hot As Mercury"! Sure would like to see that mercury rise! Well, if you're not afraid of "Death By A Thousand Chilis" where you end up on "Red Hot Stretchers", then make your way to Middle Paxton Elementary School on Saturday, January 17 from Noon to 2pm for the 3rd Annual Chili Cook-Off! Everyone is invited to the 3rd Annual Chili Cook-Off featuring 24 local chefs! You vote for the best! What better way to spend a cold January afternoon than eating chili!!
