🎉Last week we held our annual Potluck and Advancement Ceremony for the Pack. We had great food and a great turn out even though it was a rescheduled date. We are so proud of how they all did this year, and you should be, too!

🏅Scouts received the patches and adventures slides they earned along w a certificate that they completed the current level.

🥁See us again this Sunday during the Darlington Canoe Festival parade at 1:30pm on Ohio Street!

For Scout families that couldn’t make it, you may pick up your Scouts awards after the parade at the pick-up point. Check your email for more information!

🚲 The Scouts had a great time participating in bike safety at our May Pack meeting. It was fun watching them maneuver the obstacles and learn why it’s important to make sure you stay safe on the trail.

📆Our next meeting on Tuesday, June 2nd will be to celebrate the end of the year with a family potluck and advancement ceremony.

🚫The May den meeting has been cancelled as some of our Scouts will be participating in the Kid Wind championship. We wish them and their teammates the best, and good luck to all!

🔥April’s den meeting focused on the one thing you need for a tasty s’more - fire! Scouts learned various ways to start a campfire before breaking off into groups to showcase their skills. They ended the night making (and eating) s’mores!

🚴🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️ Our May Pack meeting will be tomorrow, May 5th. Scouts will learn and practice bicycle safety.

At our April Pack meeting the Dens broke out into groups before heading outside. The older Dens learned how to read a compass and did some orienteering while the younger Dens did charades and a nature scavenger hunt.

Our next meeting is tonight from 6-7pm. See you then, Scouts!

🪾We spent quality time at our March den meeting identifying trees in Pecatonica River Trails Park. The kids (and adults!) did a great job identifying trees by their bark. From walnuts and maples to oaks and birch, one tree had everyone stumped. Can you guess what it is? A picture of this swirly tree is at the end of this post.

🧭 Our April Pack meeting is tomorrow, April 7th from 6-7:30pm. We will continue working on our outdoor skills.

🏎️ We had an amazing Pinewood Derby this past Saturday! 24 Scouts and 7 in open class made for a spectacularly good time. Thank you goes to the Darlington Fire Department for letting us take over the engine bay for the day.🚒

🎉Many thanks to family, friends, and the general public for contributing to and/or purchasing from our bake sale🍪. It’s support like yours that lets us purchase the new track we used this year.

Everyone did a great job with their cars and treats, preparing the firehouse for the races, and putting it all back again at the end of the day.

Thank you for a great day!
