Our Ordinarie Heroes Farm interns attended a soil testing workshop on Environmental Contaminants and Soil Remediation, hosted by the ARC and Penn State Extension!
Healthy soil is the foundation of a thriving garden, but understanding what metals are in our soil is just as important as knowing what we grow in it. Our interns deepened their knowledge of soil health, environmental contaminants, and strategies for creating safer, healthier growing spaces. We were even able to use a soil testing gun to see how soul testing happens behind the scenes.
What’s next? Bringing that knowledge back to our own farm! 🌎🔍 Our interns will apply what they’ve learned to survey our site, assess our soil, and take the next steps toward understanding the conditions in which we grow our food.
