Need a document notarized? Senior Community Services is pleased to offer free notary services provided by Faith Ferebee, a licensed, bonded and insured Notary Public!

Beginning this month:
2nd Tuesday of each month
4th Thursday of each month
11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

No appointment is needed during these hours! Services are available to consumers and staff.

Fall is in the air, and there is a LOT happening at SCS!

This week’s Friday Five is packed with ways to get involved, connect with others, learn something new, and have a little fun. Today, we pause to remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the families forever changed, and the heroes who ran toward danger to help others.

We remember their courage and sacrifice, and hold in our thoughts all those whose lives were forever changed that day.

We will never forget.

A little taste of what’s happening at SCS this week…

What do cucumber salad, watercolor paintings, volunteering, birthday celebrations, and taking control of chronic pain have in common?

They’re ALL in this week’s Friday Five!

At Good Neighbor, members learned about healthy eating and cooking with COSA Nutrition Consultant Danielle Burke, and got to taste a delicious cucumber salad at the end of the presentation!

At Schoolhouse, we’ve got an important watercolor class time correction (and a little inspiration for trying your own watercolor project at home).

We’re also looking ahead to fall and inviting YOU to find your place as an SCS volunteer. Whether you’d rather deliver meals, lend a hand inside a center, or share a special skill, there’s a place for you!

+ Next week we’re celebrating August birthdays at Chester and sharing information about COSA’s upcoming FREE Power Over Pain program for older adults living with chronic pain.
