The Keith Dawson Foundation had the privilege of meeting Tyson, a 65-year-old retired corrections officer who is battling Multiple Myeloma. Tyson’s life has been guided by one simple principle: treat everyone with kindness and respect.
Tyson proudly celebrates an incredible milestone—34 years of sobriety. He attends Narcotics Anonymous meetings every day, finding strength in the fellowship and encouragement of others. Tyson does not have family, and says otherwise he would be alone.
People often ask Tyson how he is able to face his cancer diagnosis and chemotherapy without relapsing, he simply says:
“Through my belief in God and the support of the people in Narcotics Anonymous.”
His story is a powerful reminder that faith, community, and hope can carry us through life’s most difficult battles.
