Here is what April Vater, teacher at Bracken County Middle School, shared about Vibrant Learning:
“At Bracken County Middle School, Vibrant Learning has become much more than a teaching strategy—it has become a way of thinking about what we want school to be for our students. We want our students to have opportunities to do meaningful work, solve authentic problems, communicate their thinking, collaborate with others, and see themselves as capable learners. Our journey began with developing our Portrait of a Learner, but Vibrant Learning has helped us bring those competencies to life through experiences that give students voice, choice, purpose, and an authentic audience. Ultimately, we want our students to leave BCMS knowing not only what they have learned, but who they are as learners and what they are capable of contributing to the world around them.”
