Dana Point Women's Club

Dana Point Women's Club The Dana Point Women’s Club has been an integral part of the Dana Point community since 1951.

We are the home of Project Foster, a heart warming philanthropy providing clothing, essentials and HOPE to foster and at risk kids. 2026 is our 75th Year! We meet every 1st Thursday of the month at 11 AM (except July and August) and often offer a catered lunch (member fee usually $30) or free potluck at the same time. We host several annual fundraisers including Cocktails for a Cause in the fall

and a Spring Fundraiser. We support the underserved in our local area, contributing to "Sparkpoint" - the United Way Financial Literacy Program (preventing homelessness in Dana Point), Project Angel Tree, Hugs for Heroes, Handbags for Hearts, and other worthy philanthropies. We also have a scholarship program and support literacy through school and Public Library programs. We are committed to encouraging camaraderie among our members through offering members' only social events. Last year we hosted a Chili Cook Off, a Christmas luncheon, a wrapping party for Project Angel Tree and a Girls Night Out wine and painting event. Membership in DPWC automatically includes membership in our sister organization, Community House, Inc., which manages our Club House property on San Juan Avenue in Dana Point.

Congratulations on your retirement!

We have had the pleasure of working with Principal Nelson over the years and have been honored to welcome her as a guest speaker at several of our meetings. Through her partnership in our philanthropic efforts and her unwavering dedication to students, families, and the community, she has made a lasting impact on so many lives.

We couldn't be happier for her as she begins this exciting new chapter after so many years of service, leadership, and commitment. Wishing her all the best in a well-deserved retirement!

🌟 The City of Dana Point recognized Kristen Nelson, Principal of R.H. Dana Elementary School, for her extraordinary leadership, dedication, and lasting impact as she celebrates her well-deserved retirement! 🌟

Throughout her many years as Principal, Kristen has served students, families, and staff with compassion, vision, and unwavering dedication. Under her transformational leadership, R.H. Dana Elementary flourished—growing from approximately 150 students to more than 450 students and becoming one of the most sought-after campuses in the area.

Kristen championed innovative learning opportunities, including the expansion of the school’s highly successful Spanish Dual Immersion Program, enriching educational experiences for countless students and families. Her commitment to excellence earned her recognition as Elementary and K-8 Administrator of the Year by the Capistrano Unified Management Association.

Beyond the accolades, Kristen’s greatest legacy is the culture of belonging, support, and optimism she fostered within the school community. Her passion for education and dedication to the youth and families of Dana Point will continue to inspire generations to come. 🎓

Thank you, Kristen, for your remarkable service, leadership, and heart. The City of Dana Point wishes you a joyful, fulfilling, and truly well-earned retirement! 👏
