Surfrider x Rip Curl x WSL Coastal Defender Tour Beach Cleanup

Description
Join Surfrider, Rip Curl and WSL for a beach cleanup at San Clemente Pier in honor of the Finals contest at Trestles.

Purpose
Our local beaches need the support and stewardship of volunteers like you! We welcome you to an engaging day of toes in the sand with family, friends and new acquaintances, raising awareness about litter and plastic pollution.

Role
All cleanup supplies will be provided by Surfrider. By taking action to protect our ocean, waves and beaches, your collection efforts allow Surfrider to use critical beach cleanup data to influence laws and reduce plastic pollution at the source!

Featuring Dina Gilio-Whitaker, renown environmental justice advocate, educator and consultant who will discuss her latest book “As Long as Grass Grows: The Indigenous Fight For Environmental Justice from Colonization to Standing Rock.” She will also highlight examples of the Save Trestles campaign and collaboration between Surfrider and Tribes and current Marine Protective Areas efforts relative to Tribes.
