After8toEducate Dedicated to supporting unsheltered Dallas ISD high school students and other homeless young adults find a way out of homelessness and poverty

After8toEducate (“After8”) is the first all-encompassing program to support unsheltered high school youth in Dallas. After8 brings together community resources to reduce the number of unsheltered young adults and foster self-sufficiency. After8toEducate offers an umbrella solution to allow unsheltered high school students to develop academically, emotionally, and socially to ultimately live healthy and productive lives. In collaboration with the Dallas Independent School District (DISD) and local organizations, After8 provides a three-pillar program that addresses the unsheltered youth that are currently enrolled in DISD high schools and support immediate needs of other homeless young adults age 14-21.

🚍BIG NEWS for our youth!

After8ToEducate is excited to announce our newest partnership with Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART)!

In 2025 alone, more than 1,200 young people experiencing homelessness walked through our doors. And for many of them, something as simple as transportation can stand between where they are today and where they’re trying to go.

A job interview.
Their first day of work.
School.
A GED class.

An opportunity that could change their life.
Through this partnership with DART, we’re helping remove that barrier by connecting our youth to transportation solutions that help them get where they need to go—and take the next step toward stability and independence.
This is bigger than transportation. This is access. This is opportunity. This is what it looks like when a city comes together for its young people.

When our youth have a solid foundation and the resources they need to move forward, our entire community wins.

And we’re just getting started.

Today wasn’t just about receiving a certificate.

💛 Today was about POSSIBILITY.

Our youth completed their 10-week Life Skills Cohort, a program designed to give young people experiencing homelessness the tools, confidence, resources, and support they need to begin building a brighter future.

Every youth who completed the program walked away with a certificate recognizing their hard work and those who excelled were surprised with brand-new laptops of their very own. 💻✨

The young woman you see in this video is currently working toward completing her GED.

Think about what having her own laptop means: the ability to study, complete assignments, apply for jobs, access resources and keep moving forward.

THANK YOU to all the amazing sponsors, guests and volunteers that made our “Youth First Gala: Cowboy Chic Edition “ a success!

Our gala was not just an event to have fun and network but also an opportunity for us to fundraise so we can better assist our youth. THANK YOU!

After8ToEducate is a non profit organization that works with youth ages 14-21years old who are unsheltered or dealing with other extreme financial struggles. Through partnership with DISD, we have renovated the interior of an unutilized DISD school in South Dallas behind Fair Park called Fannie Harriss. Part of our building is a drop in center open 7 days a week 8am - 9pm where youth can take showers, wash their clothes , eat, receive other life resources such as access to id, education, job training and placement, medical resources, housing placement and more.
