Four of our club members and one guest attended the GFWC VA Blue Ridge District fall meeting in Bedford this past Saturday where we were joined by the GFWC Virginia officers: Susie Mowry, President, Carolyn Fellers, 2nd Vice President, and Joanne Dixon, 3rd VP Director of Junior Clubs. We would like to thank the GFWC Bedford Woman's Club for hosting the meeting. The Blue Ridge District clubs donated needed items for Children's Assistive Technology Services (C.A.T.S.).

Club ladies and several of their significant others took a trip to Covington VA today to visit The Wall That Heals which is a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C.

Our service project for the GFWC National Day of Service today was handing out snack bags at Solomon's Mission in Buchanan. Club ladies donated most of the items and packed the bags to be distributed. A big shout out to Bo Blankenship from Focus One Integrated Financial Planning for his generous contribution to our project.

On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, we were so honored that the Botetourt County Board of Supervisors recognized the work and dedication of our club members in the community.
A Proclamation was drafted and read by Supervisor Dr Mac Scothorn congratulating the GFWC Botetourt Town and Women's Club for receiving the GFWC Community Impact Award at the national convention.

Our September meeting last evening featured delicious international foods prepared by club members and a presentation by Joanne White on her travels to India.

At our monthly meeting last night, members prepared snack bags for our Saturday event at Solomon's Mission. This project is in conjunction with the GFWC National Day of Service which focuses on food insecurities. We were so excited to have the GFWC VA Blue Ridge District President, Camilla Cabaniss to join us in our efforts.

A meal packing event for Rise Against Hunger was held at St Mark's United Methodist Church in Daleville on Saturday. Several of our club members were among the 100 who volunteered to help pack 20,000 meals.

Our club President, Mary Wingate presented a check for $2500 to the Botetourt County Historical Society, Inc. and Museum.
