UPDATE: A Local Non-Profit Hardtimes Ranch & Sanctuary will be taking Ms. Daisy into their program for TLC & Training and she will be adoptable through them in the future 🫏 Thank You Everyone for sharing this post - our Virginia Equine Community is Powerful 💕

Sweet "Daisy" needs an experienced donkey home to give her the TLC and donkey friends that she so desperately needs 💕
Daisy had lived happily with boarder gelding horses up until a year ago where she has been all alone since. Her owners report she moved up to VA 10 years ago with a group of about 30 donkeys from a TX Killpen and they selected her out of that group to bring home as a livestock guardian.

When we first met Daisy, it became clear she still has so much to give to her next family. She was willing to trade back scratches for her vet visit "pokes" and by the end of our time together she had her shoulder leaned in to her handler asking for more attention. We truly believe that with time and consistency this sweet girl will understand what it means to be a true "pet" donkey🫏💕

What we know about Ms. Daisy:
✅️Estimated to be in her Teens
✅️ Coggins & Initial 6-way Vaccine(Due for Booster in the coming weeks)
✅️Skin Scrape & Hair Sample unremarkable, she just has allergies and sensitivites like most of us

What Ms. Daisy needs:
✅️ Training & Patient Support to learn how to be consistently handled outside of a closed area
✅️ Training & Kindness surrounding having her hooves trimmed without a rodeo experience
✅️Home with NO LIVESTOCK(preferably none on site but none in pen with her at a minimum)
✅️Her vet has reccomended topical salves, sprays, and options for healing her sensitive bug bites and dry skin
