The South Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs proudly sends a happy 251st birthday to the United States Navy!

Today, we honor the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of all Navy veterans and active-duty sailors—especially those from right here in South Dakota—who have protected our global waters and defended our freedom since 1775.

To all who have worn the anchor, thank you for your unwavering service. Fair winds and following seas! ⚓🇺🇸

Please plan accordingly! The Kenneth Kuper VFW #3442 will be closing at 5:00 PM on Thursday, October 15 for our Post and Auxiliary meetings.

⏰ Last call will be at 4:30 PM!

Please don’t count on being able to purchase your Queen of Hearts tickets Thursday evening. Be sure to get your tickets ahead of time!

Thank you to everybody, who came out tonight! And especially to those of you who showed up in pink!

A huge thank you to our Honor Guard members who helped us tonight! As well as the volunteers behind the scenes, we appreciate you so much. We have so much gratitude for you!

And since some people keep commenting, no one won. We will have one more drawing next week.

And then we’re taking a break until November 6.

Thank you for those of you whom showed extreme patience tonight.

And those of you who always show up and are so grateful and graceful.
