Another charity we are proud to support through this year’s People’s Choice is First Source For Women. 🩷
The work they do has such a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and families throughout our community. We are truly grateful for their dedication, compassion, and commitment to making a difference.
Today, we’d love to share a little more about their organization, their mission, and the incredible work they do in our community.

✨First source for women's mission is to serve women in unplanned pregnancies by providing the care, serves, and resources they need to plan a successful future. We do this by offering free pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, options consulting, parenting classes, material assistance through our baby boutique and mom's boutique, and ongoing support throughout pregnancy.

One of the amazing charities we’re proud to support this year through People’s Choice is LEAD.
LEAD does so much for our community, often quietly and behind the scenes. They show up, make a difference, and impact lives in ways that sometimes go unheard and unseen. Their work matters, and the people they help matter. ❤️
Today, we want to share a little bit of Ashley’s story—a story that gives you a glimpse into the incredible impact LEAD has on the lives of those in our community.

✨ Laurelwood Equine Assisted Discoveries, known as LEAD, provides a unique counseling opportunity for kids and families in Cullman county. We help anyone who is navigating mental illness, daily stress, trauma, or disrupted relationships.
Licensed Professional Counselor Ashley Lee, uses meaningful session time with horses, in nature, to create an opportunity to slow down, feel safe, and experience connection with others. Counseling sessions with the horses promote resilience, problem solving, and relaxation. Children and adults find a place of comfort at LEAD when nothing else has been effective in the past. Sheri Rasco, Ms. Senior Cullman County, is handing out sparkly crowns to young girls showing kindness and supporting them at their sports events. Two of the girls that received the crowns this day were Arlie and Whitney, very well deserving girls! 👑

Hint #1 She has 16 grandchildren!

Hint #2 She was crowned Miss Cullman County in 1980 and went on to compete in Miss Alabama!

Hint #3 She was a flyer for the Wallace State Cheerleaders back in the day!
