The KYHA is a unified, statewide h**p organization that focuses on inclusion and the betterment of all stakeholders within the Kentucky H**p Industry.

The mission of the Kentucky H**p Association (KYHA) is to represent the interests of the emerging Kentucky h**p industry. As a 501(c)(6) membership-based non-profit trade group, we seek to encourage the research and development of new products made from industrial h**p while offering our members a network of like-minded, trusted individuals within the current h**p industry.

🌱 Kentucky h**p is being harvested. But what happens next?

Kentucky farmers are bringing in their h**p crops while the industry waits to see what happens with the federal h**p restrictions scheduled for December 11.

For farmers who have already invested time, money, and resources into this year’s crop, the uncertainty is real.

Kentucky h**p is in the field.
Kentucky farmers are doing their part.

Now, the industry needs clarity and a regulatory path forward that protects farmers, businesses, consumers, and the future of h**p in Kentucky.

Meet Our Advisory Board Member — JANA GRODA 🌱

We’re thrilled to introduce Jana Groda, Founder/CAO of One Love H**p Dispensary, as a valued member of our advisory board.

📚 About Jana Groda:

Jana has been part of the Kentucky H**p Program since 2015. After a 45-foot fall left her injured, C*D became a key part of her recovery. Through personal experience, study, and hands-on involvement in a Kentucky grow, she deepened her connection to h**p.

She now serves on the board of the Kentucky H**p Association. Driven to learn more about cannabis and plant-based pain relief, Jana earned a Second Level Interpening Certification from the Trichome Institute in Denver.

In 2018, she and Nancy Roberts realized their dream by opening One Love H**p Dispensary, where Jana enjoys “talking terps” and sharing her love for h**p. 🌱

A new Whitney Economics report, based on a survey of 496 h**p businesses across 35 states, estimates that if the federal restrictions take effect as written:

* 68.1% of h**p businesses could close
* 188,961–225,861 workers could be displaced
* 29,523–36,744 employers could be lost
* States could lose $1.2–$1.5 billion in tax revenue

The deadline has been pushed to December 11, giving lawmakers and the industry more time to address the proposed restrictions.

For Kentucky h**p, these numbers matter.

The industry deserves to be heard.

This week, reports about students becoming ill at Pleasure Ridge Park High School in Louisville quickly pointed to THC-infused candy wrappers found in a nearby trash bin.

But finding THC wrappers is not the same as establishing that THC caused the illnesses.

Since then, the reported explanations have continued to change. Investigators have looked at possible gas exposure, environmental factors, and a dried-out P-trap in a chemistry lab that may have allowed sewer gas to enter the building. Officials have also stated that no single cause has been definitively confirmed.

That distinction matters.

H**p and h**p-derived products deserve responsible discussion based on evidence—not assumptions, headlines, or conclusions reached before the facts are established.

We believe in education, transparency, responsible regulation, and accurate information.

Before assigning blame, let's find out what actually happened.

We want to give a shoutout to our dear friend Dr. Nar Gurung from Tuskegee University, who recently presented a fascinating webinar on the use of h**p seed meal in goat nutrition.

KYHA is always interested in research that helps us better understand the many uses of h**p.

The webinar was hosted through the H**p Feed Coalition, which holds these webinars on the third Thursday of each month. The recording is now available.

While the Kentucky H**p Association isn’t a charity, we are in desperate need of donations to continue our work on behalf of Kentucky’s h**p industry.

The federal restrictions that threatened our industry have now been pushed back to December 11, 2026, giving us more time—but there is still a lot of work to do.
