Community partners are a big part of what makes the Kids Entrepreneur Market so special. They show up not only to support our young business owners, but also to connect with them, encourage them and help create an event where families feel welcome. We are incredibly grateful for partners like the Crestview Police Department who invest their time in our kids and our community. It truly takes a village, and ours always shows up.

This is what hands-on learning looks like. Every sale gives a young entrepreneur the opportunity to practice counting money, making change, communicating with customers and making thoughtful decisions about what to save, spend or reinvest in their business.

According to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, real-world experiences with money help children develop decision-making skills, positive financial habits, goal-setting abilities and confidence. At the Kids Entrepreneur Market, they aren’t just making money. They’re learning how to manage it.

We are so excited to celebrate our anniversary with you at our November Market!

Over the past two years, more than 500 kids have registered to participate in the Kids Entrepreneur Market, supported by more than 30 incredible sponsors who believed in what we were building.

Since our first market in November 2024, we have hosted seven markets. Conservatively, each one requires 20–25 combined hours of preparation. That means more than 150 hours have been spent securing sponsors, ordering shirts, managing registrations, communicating with families, promoting the event and coordinating all the details that bring each market together.

This anniversary belongs to every young entrepreneur, parent, sponsor, volunteer and community member who has supported this program. We cannot wait to celebrate two years of big ideas, brave kids and growing businesses with you this November!

More Than a Market: The Magic of the Kids Shop

One of our favorite parts of every Kids Entrepreneur Market happens after the final customer has shopped and the official market has ended.

That is when the Kids Shop begins.

Our young entrepreneurs finally step away from their own booths and explore what everyone else has created. They can spend some of the money they earned, or, if both vendors agree, barter and trade their products with one another.

It may look like a fun way to end the day, but there is a great deal of learning happening in those conversations.

When children barter, they have to consider the value of what they made and the value of what someone else is offering. They practice negotiating, communicating clearly and making decisions without an adult doing it for them. They learn that a fair exchange does not always mean two items have the same price. It means both people understand the trade and feel good about it.

The Kids Shop also gives them an opportunity to become customers themselves. After spending hours explaining their own products, they get to show interest in someone else’s work, ask questions and recognize the creativity and effort behind another child’s business.

Perhaps most importantly, this time helps build friendships.

These children arrive with different products, personalities and ideas, but they share the experience of creating something and having the courage to offer it to the public. Shopping and trading give them a natural reason to talk, connect and celebrate one another. A simple exchange can become a conversation, and that conversation can become a friendship that continues at future markets.

By the end of the event, they are no longer just vendors standing beside one another. They are young entrepreneurs supporting their peers, learning from each other and becoming part of a community.

The money earned is exciting. The products they take home are fun. But the confidence, connections and friendships they build along the way are often the most valuable part of the entire market.

From working a booth to owning her own business, Chasyanna’s Photography is a homegrown entrepreneur. Now at 18, she’s back at the Kids Entrepreneur Market, this time as a sponsor, capturing all the great photos of the other amazing kids.

Give her a follow, because our support doesn’t stop just because they turn 18 🫶

This is what our market is all about!!

Dad’s hands are in there helping, but make NO mistake, he’s taking orders. At the Kids Entrepreneur Market, the kids are the boss of their own booth. They decide how it’s packaged, how it’s priced, and how it’s sold. Parents are just the hired help for the day. 🤣

If you haven’t been out to one of our markets yet, see for yourself. These kids show up, run the whole thing, and it’s amazing! Join us Friday, November 13th!
