Do you want to become a child care provider?

Do you want to become a child care provider?

Del Norte County families are struggling to find child care — especially infant care, summer care, and care during nontraditional work hours. At the same time, we know many people may have considered becoming a child care provider but faced barriers that made the process feel overwhelming or out of reach.

We want to better understand:
• What barriers exist to becoming a licensed child care provider
• What misinformation or confusion may exist around licensing
• What supports would help current and future providers succeed
• What families are experiencing when trying to find care

This survey is for:
✔ Current providers
✔ Former providers
✔ Individuals interested in becoming licensed
✔ Parents and caregivers
✔ Community members impacted by the child care shortage

Our goal is not to criticize providers or licensing requirements. Our goal is to listen, learn, and identify ways our community can better support safe, sustainable, quality child care for working families.

Please take a few minutes to complete the survey and share it with others in Del Norte County.

Thank you for helping us better understand the needs of our community and work toward solutions together.
