We’ve been a little quiet lately, but we promise we haven’t disappeared into the Nine Realms! 🐺
First, we want to apologize for our lack of posts recently. We’ve been diligently working behind the scenes on our website, improving our meeting structure, expanding our educational offerings, and making some exciting changes to help Wolf’s Den Coven grow into the community we’ve always envisioned.
And now, we’re excited to invite you to something special!

Everyone is welcome! Whether you’re a seasoned Pagan, a solitary practitioner, just beginning your spiritual journey, or simply curious about Norse Paganism, we’d love to have you join us!
🌿 A Little About Our Traditions
While Wolf’s Den Coven is proudly rooted in Norse Paganism, we recognize that spirituality is deeply personal and that there is wisdom and beauty to be found in many Pagan traditions.
For our seasonal Sabbat celebrations, we strive to blend traditional Norse practices with elements of modern Pagan celebrations.
Our upcoming ritual is a perfect example!
🍂 Winter Nights (Vetrnætr) is an Old Norse seasonal observance marking the transition into winter, associated with honoring ancestors, the dísir, and the changing seasons.
🕯️ Samhain, rooted in ancient Gaelic tradition and celebrated by many modern Pagans, is a time for honoring the dead, remembering our ancestors, and reflecting upon the cycles of life and death.
While these celebrations originate from different traditions, they share beautiful themes of remembrance, transition, and connection to those who came before us.
Our ritual will thoughtfully incorporate elements of both, honoring our Norse foundations while embracing the wider Pagan community.
We don’t expect everyone who joins us to follow our gods or walk our particular path. We simply ask that everyone enter our sacred space with an open mind and a respectful heart.
🐺 What to Expect — Our Ritual Itinerary
We know joining an unfamiliar group ritual can be intimidating, so here’s exactly how our evening will unfold!
1. Gathering — Welcoming everyone and getting settled.
2. Opening & Hallowing — Creating and blessing our sacred space.
3. Guided Meditation — Grounding ourselves and preparing for the ritual.
4. Main Content — Our Winter Nights and Samhain observance.
5. Symbel (Three Rounds) — Honoring our deities, ancestors, and personal accomplishments or commitments.
6. Announcements — Coven updates and upcoming events.
7. Closing — Formally concluding our sacred gathering.
🍻 What Is Symbel?
Symbel is a traditional Germanic communal practice involving toasts, remembrance, and meaningful declarations.
Our version consists of three simple rounds:
🐺 Round One — Honoring Our Deities
An Alpha will say:
“Hail Hel! Hail Fenrir!”
Everyone is invited to repeat those words.
🌿 Round Two — Honoring Our Ancestors
An Alpha will say:
“Hail the Ancestors!”
Everyone is invited to repeat those words or the name of someone special to you who passed on.
🔥 Round Three — Oath, Boast, or Pass
Each participant will have the opportunity to choose one of three options:
⚔️ Oath: Share a promise or meaningful commitment you are making. Remember, oaths carry significance in Norse tradition, so choose your words thoughtfully.
🐺 Boast: Share something good you’ve done recently! An accomplishment, an act of kindness, a personal victory, or anything you’re proud of. Nothing is too small to celebrate!
🌙 Pass: Not comfortable speaking? Simply say “Pass.” There is absolutely no pressure to participate verbally.
Participation is always voluntary. Respect for one another is not.
🌲 A Final Word from the Den
Wolf’s Den Coven was founded on the values of courage, strength, wisdom, hospitality, and community.
Our goal is not simply to practice together, but to create a place where people can learn, grow, ask questions, share experiences, and feel a genuine sense of belonging.
You do not have to be a member to attend. You do not need ritual experience. You do not even need to follow the Norse pantheon.
Come as you are. Bring your curiosity, your respect, and an open heart.
