We will always remember this firefighter as our Chief had the pleasure to work side by side with him many moons ago. You were a kind and gentle person Steve. You loved your family like no other.

Today we remember Steve Rucker, a devoted husband, father, friend, and Novato firefighter paramedic who died in the line of duty on October 29, 2003.

Steve’s legacy lives on in the members who served alongside him and the community he dedicated his life to serving. We honor his memory and remember all those affected by this loss.

Steve will never be forgotten.

ON THE JOB:
Yesterday at approximately 12:30 we recieved a dispatch from Cal Fire for a reported wildland fire in the field next to a home on Rio Alto. LCVFD immediately responded with an engine arriving shortly after the dispatch. We found an area of burned grass with a propane truck sitting in the middle of the burned area. The fire had been extinguished by the delivery truck driver. The fire is under investigation by Cal Fire and there was no damage to the homes.

We will once again be supporting this great program. Please if you can help with a brand new bike we would appreciate it. Our staff will be assembling bikes again this year. Our toy barrels will once again be placed at our station, Geoff Hall and the Lake Club to accept new unwrapped gifts for the Christmas toy give away program. We can’t do it without the support of our community. Thank you.
