Musicians wanted! Noon-5pm, 9/26-27 at First Christian Church!

We’re seeking fun, wholesome, family-friendly musical acts of every kind to volunteer and provide ambience during our fundraiser event at the Fall Craft Fair! Guitar, sitar, DJ, didgeridoo, youth, elder, jazz trio, we want you!

We're collaborating with the Corvallis Music Collective to run a small volunteer stage in the dining area at First Christian Church during the Fall Craft Fair (which is coincidentally the same dates as the Fall Festival). Please, share this widely as we have 10 hours of stage time to fill. Youth musicians to the front, of course!

One more week of our School Supply Drive! Purchase or just drop off items in the humongous box at Albany Staples all week long, or just ship items from our list to the Mission Central office in Corvallis (225 sw 4th St, Corvallis, 97330). We're especially looking for backpacks, graphing/scientific calculators, headphones, and water bottles.

Thanks so much to everyone who has generously donated so far! We've been able to cover all of the youth in our 24/7 shelter program, and we're looking forward to having an awesome Back to School Party at the Youth Service Center on Monday and distributing a bunch of supps to youth in our Outreach program. We still urgently need supplies, though! We encounter youth from all walks of life from across Linn and Benton counties, and will be distributing the items received during this drive throughout the school year.

Big appreciation goes out to our awesome Youth Ambassadors, who have been staffing our display table at Staples the last few weeks to help engage customers in the drive. If you stop by, don't be shy, say hello and share some appreciation for their hard work advocating for their youth community!

Incredibly grateful to be delivering another Tap Talk with 500 Women Scientists Corvallis this Thursday at Common Fields! from 530-730pm, join Volunteer Coordinator Susan Richey for a talk on mentorship, volunteer engagement, at-risk youth, and all the fun and cool ways to engage with Jackson Street in the coming months. We're also happy to receive 10% of all food and n/a drink sales all day on September 3. So, stop by Common Fields for a gyro, a soda, etc. and support our youth. We'll also be collecting backpacks, headphones, sketchbooks, and flash drives for our school supply drive.

We wanted to let you all know about some upcoming community fundraisers! Tomorrow's (8/29) Septembeer Fest in Avery Park is a huge celebration by the Heart of the Valley Homebrewers, with proceeds going to Linn-Benton Food Share, Heartland Humane Society, Jackson Street Youth Services, and more. From noon-7pm, enjoy local home brews, great music, and good vibes. They're still looking for a few door people and servers at this event, head to the Septembeer Fest website for info on volunteering.

On September 3, 10% of all n/a drink sales and food sales at Common Fields will go to Jackson Street, and at 5:30 our Volunteer Coordinator Susan Richey is giving a presentation for the 500 Women Scientists Tap Talks about Jackson Street's volunteer programs. Did you know we offer the only mentoring program in Linn + Benton county? We also offer academic coaching across the region, and so, so much more! Stop by to get involved, learn about our programs, or just enjoy a delicious meal for a good cause.

We're also super excited and honored to be the recipients for this year's Dutch Bros. Bucks for Kids program on September 18! $1 from every drink purchased on this date at all three Albany Dutch Bros. stands will go to Jackson Street! We'll have more details, promotions and flyers coming for Bucks for Kids in the coming weeks, but we are so excited and want to get this huge fundraiser on your radar ASAP.

We're so grateful to all three of these wonderful organizations for saying Yes to Youth in 2026.

JACKSON STREET BISTRO POSTER DROP!!! That's right friends, September 26 and 27 we'll be back in the basement of First Christian Church with the Youth Ambassadors for the Fall Craft Fair, serving up farm to table food prepared from scratch! This year we're serving Indian Cuisine 🫓🍛, so our Youth Ambassador Autumn painted this beautiful watercolor poster to advertise our little pop-up restaurant. The henna-inspired linework and hand-painted letters are so cool!

Autumn has made so much amazing art to advertise our organization over the years, and we're truly grateful and proud to announce this is her last poster for a while, as she is off to college to pursue a Museum Studies degree. Let's get some applause for Amazing, Artistic Autumn for her hard work over the years. Enjoy this slide show of some of Autumn's sweet designs from the last few years 🎨

The Bistro is coming, and we will need help! If you're a chef (esp one that likes Indian cooking), a farmer, or a musician, we would love your support with this big community fundraiser! We will have live musicians performing in the dining area while we're serving food so we are looking for musicians to provide nice ambience as well as chef volunteers to help with prep and service.

Big organization moment!! The Next Steps residence that houses our clothing closet flooded earlier this year, and we just got done sorting through everything that survived the damage. We will once again be receiving clothing donations this fall! Thanks to our Youth Ambassadors and Volunteers for working hard on this project, and thanks to all the donors who have been patient with us while we sort out this big ol' mess.
