We are getting closer to our Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walk fundraising goal, and it’s all because of this incredible community! Every donation, every team member, every shared post, and every step forward helps provide education, advocacy, support, and life-changing programs for families affected by bleeding disorders throughout our community.

Any amount helps - Donate today!

We still have a little way to go, but together, we CAN do this! Let’s keep the momentum going and show our families just how strong this community truly is.

We are so excited to have 24 teams and over 100 participants attending. We will be at Lewis and Clark College. It is an absolutely beautiful venue. At the beginning of the month, three of our amazing kiddos traveled to Henderson, Nevada, to compete in the Getting in the Game Jr. National Championship (JNC)! This incredible event gives young athletes in the bleeding disorders community the opportunity to experience high-level sports training, competition, and teamwork in a supportive and empowering environment.

Our three athletes chose basketball and golf, stepping outside their comfort zones, building confidence, and creating unforgettable memories along the way. Even more special, they had the chance to connect with other kids from across the country who understand their journey and share similar experiences.

Programs like JNC remind our kids that a bleeding disorder does not define their limits—it simply makes their victories even more inspiring. We are so proud of these young athletes for representing our community with courage, determination, and heart!
Congratulations, Siale, Levon, and Jace.

💙 May is Women’s Health Awareness Month 💙

Women can and do have bleeding disorders—and they often face unique challenges, especially with menstruation and childbirth.

One of the most common symptoms is menorrhagia, or abnormally heavy and prolonged periods. Many women go undiagnosed, but proper testing, diagnosis, and treatment can greatly improve quality of life.

If you suspect a bleeding disorder, taking that first step toward answers is important—and support is available.

HFA’s Women’s Toolkit includes:
✔️ Recorded webinars and videos
✔️ Tools like mobile apps and provider directories
✔️ Articles, guides, and educational materials

💡 Did you know?

Arthritis is one of the most common complications of bleeding disorders and is caused by repeated or untreated bleeding into the joints.

When joint bleeds aren’t treated quickly, they can damage cartilage and lead to chronic pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility over time.

Signs of arthritis may include:
• Pain and aching in the joints
• Morning stiffness
• Decreased flexibility

The good news is that arthritis can often be prevented by treating joint bleeds quickly, staying active, and working closely with your Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC).

If you’re unsure whether joint pain is from a bleed or arthritis, treat with factor and consult your HTC.

During Arthritis Awareness Month, take steps to protect your joint health 💙
