Live music from Zero to Give (6:30-8:30p), a raffle including Carolina Panthers tickets, delicious food, and $1 from every beer goes straight to the Levine Cancer Institute.

Meet the amazing Kristin

💙 Why I Swim - Year 10 (well, 12!)

June 30, 2014 was the day of my thyroidectomy, so today marks 12 years cancer free! Swim Across America found me right when I needed it, at the The Y at Lake Norman, and swimming became my way of channeling everything I was feeling into something bigger.

Every year I swim for someone battling or who lost their battle with cancer. In 2021 I swam for my dad, going through treatment for recurring kidney cancer. He lost that battle in 2022, but he swims with me in spirit every year.

These days I’m passing that mission on. As one of the coaches of the Lightning Swim Team at the Lowe’s YMCA, I brought 25 of my swimmers, including my own daughter, to Lake Wylie last year, each swimming for their own why. Hoping for even more this year!
