Last year, Jennifer swam one mile.
This year, she's swimming two. 🌊
She swims for her mom (breast cancer, twice). Her dad (lymphoma). Her uncle. Her niece. Her friend's son. All survivors today, thanks to research and early detection.
She also swims for the ones she's lost.Jane, Bryan, Hannah, Kathy, Sandra, Jim and for those who have no one to swim for them.
"This swim is my small act of defiance," she says. "My way of saying: we keep going. We keep fighting. We keep loving loudly."

— Meet Matthew Arnold!

1 in 2 men. 1 in 3 women. In our lifetime, nearly every family will be touched by cancer. That's exactly why Matthew showed up, and why he's not stopping. 💪

This October 4th, Matthew is taking on the Charlotte Open Water Swim at Camp Thunderbird to raise as much money as he can for cancer research, prevention, and treatment. He didn't just sign up for a swim, he signed up to help change those numbers.
Oh, and did we mention? Matthew is currently sitting at #2 on our fundraising leaderboard 👀 and he's just getting started. Think you can help push him to the top?

This incredible team joined Swim Across America Charlotte because they believe in something bigger than themselves, giving families hope in their fight against cancer. Every stroke they take on October 4th at Camp Thunderbird goes directly to Atrium Health Institute right here in Charlotte.

Our guy came out of that water like an absolute champion and honestly? With "ROOKIE" stamped across his entire body, we think he more than earned the right to lose that label. First swim. Full heart. All in.
