Congers Scouts BSA Troop 29

Week 4 comes to an end at Tuscarora Scout Reservation where our Scouts earned merit badges, learned valuable life skills, completed rank requirements in the trailblazer program, and participated in many fun activities. We also teamed up with Haverstraw Troop 19 for almost all activities. It was a great week! Nice job, Troop 29 and 19!

Troop 29’s 3rd annual ultimate frisbee match. The Scouts took the adults 15-14.

That leaves the Scouts in the lead 2-1.

After our June Court of Honor, a big congratulations is in order for the Scouts of Troop 29 that have ranked up, and to the two Cub Scouts of Pack 29 that have crossed the bridge into Troop 29. Also, we owe a huge thank you to the older scouts who have helped the younger scouts progress through their requirements and rank up.

For the Troop, spring is cleanup season; scouts volunteered at a Keep Rockland Beautiful / Grand American Cleanup location, and scouts cleaned in front of the Congers VMA to prepare for the Memorial Day ceremony. Great work scouts!

As a part of our preparations for Memorial Day, members of Troop and Pack 29 placed flags at the graves of veterans and first responders at Gethsemane Cemetery. This tradition is one way we pay tribute to and honor our fallen heroes.

It was an honor for the troop to be able to participate in the Congers Memorial Day parade yesterday. This Memorial Day, we honor and thank all of our veterans, especially those who paid the ultimate price.
