When communities work together, we grow stronger.

Through the power of partnership, our coalition—including Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, Rockland County Government, Rockland Conservation & Service Corps, Meals on Wheels of Rockland County, and many other dedicated steering committee partners—creates a lasting impact across our community.

As the lead agency of the Rockland Against Hunger Coalition, TOUCH coordinates mass food distributions, food recovery efforts, and collaborative initiatives that help food pantries throughout the county serve more people, more effectively.

Fighting hunger takes a village—and we are proud to help bring that village together.

Nutrition Is Healthcare.

Good nutrition is essential to managing chronic illness and maintaining overall health.

Our Food Pantry and Nutrition Services provide access to healthy foods that help individuals and families thrive. Because food isn’t just fuel—it’s medicine, dignity, and opportunity.

Everyone deserves access to nutritious food.

Every day, perfectly good food goes to waste while families in our community struggle to put food on the table. Through our Get Fresh and Food Recovery programs, we rescue surplus food and transform it into nourishment for our neighbors in need.

As the lead agency of the Rockland Against Hunger Coalition, we’re working to build a healthier, hunger-free Rockland County—one meal at a time.

Join us in the fight against hunger. Together, we can make a difference.

Did you know?

LGBTQ+ individuals experience food insecurity at higher rates than the general population. Research shows that 18% of LGBTQ+ adults experienced food insecurity in the past year, compared to 14% of non-LGBTQ+ adults. Some studies have found that more than 1 in 4 LGBTQ+ adults have struggled to access enough food.

These disparities are driven by overlapping challenges, including:
🏳️‍🌈 Higher rates of poverty
🏳️‍⚧️ Employment discrimination, particularly for transgender individuals
🏠 Housing instability and homelessness
❤️ Higher rates of chronic illness and disability
👨‍👩‍👧 Family rejection among LGBTQ+ youth

At TOUCH and , we are committed to supporting our LGBTQ+ neighbors through our HIV and chronic illness programs and by helping provide nutritious food to the Food Pantry, as well more than 40 food pantries across Rockland County.

This Pride Month—and every month—we stand with our LGBTQ+ community members and remain dedicated to building a healthier, more equitable community where everyone has access to the care, support, and nourishment they deserve.

Meal prepping and batch cooking are great ways to make healthy eating easier and less time-consuming. Taking a little extra time on the weekend to wash, chop, and store ingredients like garlic, red onions, and peppers can make a big difference during a busy week.

When healthy ingredients are prepped and ready to go, you’re much more likely to cook wholesome, nutritious meals at home instead of reaching for less healthy convenience options.

A little preparation today can save time, reduce stress, and help you stay on track with your health goals all week long. 🥕🧄🫑

POV: You walk into a Rockland food pantry and realize healthy food can also be comforting, delicious, and affordable. 💚

At TOUCH, we believe food is medicine. Pantry staples like canned wild salmon, beans, nuts, legumes, and whole grains are more than just shelf items — they’re nourishing tools that help people manage chronic illness, support gut health, boost energy, and stay feeling their best.

For many families, these simple ingredients—supplemented with the produce food pantries also offer—become warm soups, hearty grain bowls, healthy salads, and meals that stretch the budget without sacrificing nutrition or flavor.

Together with more than 40 food pantries across Rockland County in our Rockland Community Against Hunger coalition, we’re helping ensure our neighbors have access not just to food, but to foods that support health, healing, and dignity. Because the community depends on us to help keep Rockland healthy — one meal at a time.
