"See Me" is a declaration that thick Black women dancing bodies belong in every space, every stage, every spotlight. Even in concert dance. Not as an exception, but as a standard. Not as trendy statements, but as valued artists pushing the field forward. We are dancers.

🌸 We're growing something powerful.
"See Me" will be the newest dance work from Thick Like Me... and we need your help to build it. We learned from our 2026 Body Liberation in Dance Report that 96% of respondents said they've heard negative weight comments in dance spaces, and 81% who've seen sizeism push people away from the art form they love. And now we're developing our response.
"See Me" will fuse hip-hop and contemporary dance, live sound looping, and interactive digital media to stage the truth: thick Black women dancers are surveilled, dismissed, and doubted... and we are done being quiet about it.

💬 Let's be clear: "Sizeism is really harmful to everyone, and it doesn't have to be that way."

This isn't just a thick dancer problem. When dance spaces police bodies, everyone loses — the culture loses creativity, teachers lose students, and students lose connection to their bodies. Sizeism shrinks the whole room.
