As May comes to a close, we’re looking back on what made this month feel full.

From celebrating Heidi’s 50th and the 50K for 50 campaign, to gathering for Mother’s Day brunch, to sharing the impact of Ohio Mothers Trust, this month brought so many moments of connection. We also spent time together during our Town Hall, welcomed Job & Family Services into the space, and continued showing up for one another during our Sunday gatherings.

Each of these moments added to what Motherful continues to be. A space shaped by community, care, and people choosing to be part of it.

Thank you to everyone who showed up and made this month what it was. 💜

We did it. 💜

Together, we reached our $50K fundraising goal for Heidi’s 50K for 50 birthday campaign. What started as a celebration of Heidi’s 50th became something much bigger, a collective effort to help resource and support single mothers through Motherful. This milestone represents more support for mothers, more resources for families, and more moments of care and community.

Thank you to everyone who donated, shared, celebrated, and helped move this forward. Matriarchy is rising!

Some days at Motherful are simple.

Mothers sitting together, catching up. Kids moving around the space. People sharing what they have and checking in on one another. There’s also a rhythm of people stepping in where they can. Helping set things up, organizing, offering a hand without needing to be asked. It’s not always formal, but it’s consistent. Nothing big or planned. Just time spent together and people showing up for each other in small, real ways.

These are the moments that quietly build this community over time. We’re grateful for everyone who continues to be part of this community! 💜

Franklin County Job & Family Services will be back at Motherful this Sunday!

For many moms, this looks like help with applications, questions around benefits, or figuring out what support is available for their family. These are things that can take time, energy, and a lot of back and forth.

This is a chance to get that support in one place and take a step forward with what’s needed.

Motherful started with a decision.

In 2018, Heidi Howes and Lisa Woodward chose to create something different. They were done with systems that left single mothers to figure everything out on their own. What they built was a space rooted in care, connection, and shared support. A place where mothers could come in and not feel like they had to carry everything alone. Since then, that decision has grown into a community that continues to reach more families every year.

It’s a reminder that this work began with people who were willing to build something that could better support mothers and families, and it continues because others choose to be part of it.

There’s a rhythm to what happens at Motherful.

Mothers come in and settle into the space. Conversations pick up where they left off. Kids move around freely. Someone shares what they have. Someone else steps in to help.

Nothing about it feels forced, but everything about it matters.

This is what community looks like when people feel comfortable showing up as they are. It builds over time, through trust, consistency, and being in the same space together.

We’re grateful for everyone who continues to be part of this. 💜
