What up Parsons Ave & E Morrill Ave. It's been a minute. Last time we spent anytime together I was contributing to the chaos and the nonsense. Today we are showing up differently. Today is the launch of the Mobile Hope Center! Looking forward to getting reacquainted. We got a van full of Hope. We carry the solution. There is a way forward.

The Hope Resource Center serves Columbus residents fighting addiction, homelessness, and mental health challenges in disadvantaged neighborhoods with high rates of overdoses, poverty, and human trafficking. Our Resource Centers provide a pipeline from life-threatening addiction and homelessness to lasting sobriety, community engagement, family reunification, and employment, restoring hope and human potential. We meet clients' acute needs by providing meals, clothing, and hygiene items, and through access to recovery and mental health services including detox, treatment, and sober living. We meet clients’ long-term needs with transitional services, ongoing peer support, and our five weekly recovery meetings. Several clients have transitioned from homelessness and active addiction to Hope employment as licensed peer-support specialists. Our model breaks cycles of addiction, household instability, and economic hardship.

Franklin County Public Defenders will be at The Hope Resource Center to set aside misdemeanor warrants and reschedule court dates and to answer questions on other cases. Walk-ins start at 11:30am-2pm. Open to all!

6 fatal overdoses in 24 hours!

According to the Franklin County Coroner’s Office, there have been six suspected overdose deaths in the last 24 hours. Any drug you take that doesn’t come from a pharmacy can be laced and kill you.

Know the signs of an overdose and make sure you have naloxone on hand. If an overdose happens, tell someone to call 911. Find where to get naloxone or order naloxone by mail at Columbus.gov/cfcap.

We are taking The Hope Resource Center to the streets!
Introducing the Mobile Hope Center! We are headed to the alleys and backstreets of Columbus that are hardest hit by the despair and hopelessness of addiction. Our purpose is to carry the message that there is a way out!

Our dear friends at Heart to Heart Food Pantry were on hand at our Hilltop location. Heart to Heart is a mission of First Community (https://fcchurch.com/) and they are the best people I know. They have been coming by The Hope Resource Center for years and there dedication is unwavering. I noticed this verse on their website - "And what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”
That is who they are.

Practical experience shows that nothing will so much insure immunity from our addiction as intensive work with other addicts. It works when other activities fail. This is our twelfth suggestion: Carry this message to other addicts!

Life will take on new meaning. To watch people recover, to see them help others, to watch loneliness vanish, to see a fellowship grow up about you, to have a host of friends - this is an experience you must not miss. We know you will not want to miss it. Frequent contact with newcomers and with each other is the bright spot of our lives.

Closed out the books on August. Hello September! We're ready for ya (I think). Hope Dealers has a new program announcement coming next Thursday, September 10!

Our Wednesday night recovery meeting,The Hope Gathering, has moved! Join us every Wednesday at 6:30pm at Christ United Methodist Church, 1480 Zettler Rd., Columbus, 43227. (Transportation provided).

Wednesday night Hope Gathering recovery meeting has moved!

Starting September 2 will will meet at Christ UMC, 1480 Zettler Rd., Columbus, 43227. (just minutes from James Rd & 70E and a close walk from Livingston & James).

The Hope Gathering is a recovery-based, inclusive community that acts as a bridge between the streets and faith. We are a people who desire to work on our recovery while strengthening our relationship with our Higher Power. We work the Twelve Steps. All personal beliefs and values are welcome.
