Today we celebrate International Women’s Day — a global reminder of the power of women who lead, innovate, mentor, and lift others as they rise.

At WELD, we believe when women are supported with the right tools, networks, and opportunities, they transform workplaces, communities, and the future of leadership.

Every program, mentorship opportunity, and leadership initiative we create is designed to advance women and strengthen the organizations they lead.

This International Women’s Day, you can be part of that impact.

Your support helps WELD continue developing women leaders through programs that build confidence, expand opportunity, and create meaningful connections.

Support women’s leadership. Invest in the future.

Leadership today looks very different than it did just a few years ago. The workplace has shifted, priorities have evolved, and leaders are navigating constant disruption.

Join WELD National for the 2026 Tell It Like It Is Thursday® series as we explore this year’s theme: “The Evolution of Leadership & Mentorship: Leading in the 21st Century Post-COVID Era.”

Our upcoming session, “Thriving in Constant Disruption,” will feature Dr. Alexis Yamokoski and Shara Hutchinson, who will share practical insights on how leaders can navigate ongoing change, strengthen resilience, and support their teams without burning out.

This conversation will dive into what modern leadership truly looks like today and how women can stay grounded while thriving in an ever-evolving workplace.

For five years, Katie Tornow has served WELD as Membership Co-Chair at the chapter level and as a National Day-of-Event volunteer. Professionally, she is an Internal Audit Consultant at Grange Insurance — but within WELD, she is often the first face members see when they arrive.

Greeting attendees at our events, especially our larger national gatherings, has become one of her favorite ways to serve. From welcoming new members to watching longtime connections reconnect, Katie has had a front-row seat to the powerful community WELD continues to build.

Her belief is simple and strong: "when we invest in developing and supporting women leaders, we all benefit. Encouraged and connected women do not just advance individually — they strengthen families, organizations, and entire communities."

Thank you, Katie, for helping create spaces where women feel seen, welcomed, and empowered to lead.
