BACDR Alumni Pupdate!

Who remembers our sweet older guy, Louie? His family sent us this photo and said he continues to be a gentle soul, and is a great addition to their family 💙

Almost all of her little stars have found their own orbits and now it's time for Mama Galaxy to make her way home 💫

Galaxy is little more than a puppy herself, estimated about a year old. She is petite and athletic- she could scale a 6 ft fence if properly motivated. Her adopters should be prepared to teach her boundaries and continue working on her training.

She is good with other dogs, very playful but maybe not well suited for laid back companions who don't enjoy her persistence. She is friendly with people but is young and boisterous, so may not be a good fit for small children.

Galaxy is fostered near Columbus, OH. She is housebroken, crate trained, up to date on vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. All she needs now is her own home! How is this handsome guy still here??

Cubby is almost 3 years old, neutered, up to date on vaccines, housebroken, crate trained, and gets along well with other dogs!

He is fabulous! Any cattle dog lover will fall right in love.

He’s medium energy, but no young kids for this guy due to higher herding drive.

Even laid back cattle dogs need a job to do and Grenadine is no exception. She has been dabbling in some new training and recently tried out the Intro to Scentwork class at CleverDogs. Grenny loves working puzzles and doing activities that engage her brain 🧠

This is beautiful Bridget who was adopted earlier this year and has settled in to her new home so well. Vickie is so gracious to send updates to show that "adoptees and adopters really have a better life together" 🥹

Teddy is a sweet, 3 year old lover boy! He weighs about 50lbs and is a cattle dog/doberman mix with maybe some large wire-hair terrier in there. He is a true velcro dog that just loves being with his humans. He does well with my 8yo kid and has met younger kids with success, but he does jump when excited so babies and toddlers might not be the best pairing. He enjoys a good romp with younger, playful dogs. My parent's dog is a 6yo couch potato and gets overwhelmed by his energy and eagerness to play, but he's had tons of fun chasing and being chased by younger dogs. He is a foster I took on to help a friend of a friend, but my cats (who have been raised by senior dogs) are also overwhelmed by him and scared when he chases or barks. It is unfair to them that they can't feel safe coming up from the basement to be with their humans, with whom they are very attached. Teddy loves to play, takes to training super well, is very food motivated, and also loves a good couch cuddle. He is such a well rounded dog, I am bummed my cats don't agree. He is learning not to pull on a leash, but I think he'd be really happy being able to run around a large property or yard. He has great recall and has never run away from me, but has a very high prey drive and I don't doubt he would chase a squirrel across the globe! He gets overstimulated by busy city streets and parks, so we tend to keep it lowkey on quieter roads or trail walks when we go out. With exposure therapy and training, I know he could overcome this. He was previously under the care of a vet in Cleveland, of which I have copies of vaccination records. I currently have possession of him in Columbus, OH.
