We had beautiful weather for Sunny Wings and Wild Things! Girl Scouts went on a hike and collected natural materials to create sun prints. With two sun prints, they learned how different exposure times affect their prints! As a bonus, they got to use recycled materials to create their own art work. 🌷🍀

Are you a fan of flowers, fruits and veggies, or cool critters? 🍊🥕 Join your OE team to celebrate National Pollinator Week, in Lexington on Thursday, June 25 from 1pm - 3pm! 🦋🦇

🩵🤎💜❤️🧡💛 All Levels will learn about the different kinds of pollinators around the world and the ways that they can help them out. We will be creating our own beeswax wrap, a pollinator watering station, making our own recycled paper, and planting a native plant to take home.

🩵🤎 Campfire Stories is our event series for Daisies and Brownies to cozy up around a campfire, read an outdoorsy tale, then delve into the topic to see how we can apply what we learned from the story to our everyday lives.

Explore the cosmos in a miniature planetarium! 🪐

🤎💜❤️🧡💛 BJCSA will experience the wonder of the night sky inside a portable inflatable planetarium. They will learn how to read a star chart and make a star caster craft to practice constellation identification at home before enjoying a stellar snack. They'll finish out the program with time in the nature center exhibit space!

It's that time of year, turtles are nesting! Join your OE team and Crosswinds Marsh naturalists as we hike the trails of the marsh in search of turtle nests to cover and protect. 🐢

🩵🤎💜❤️🧡💛 All Levels will learn the signs of a freshly laid nest, mark any potential nests we discover, and learn the importance of covering nests. Participants will even meet a few live turtles!

In Michigan especially, water safety is vital for a fun and safe summer vacation, which is why we're partnering with the British Swim School to make sure everyone knows how to stay safe in the water! 🏊

🩵🤎💜❤️🧡💛 All Levels will learn how to be safe in and around water environments while participating in controlled 'emergency' situations. Girl Scouts will learn proper breath control, floating, staying calm and accountable, and what is proper adult supervision.

In Michigan especially, water safety is vital for a fun and safe summer vacation!
