What is this place?
Good question. We get that a lot. We're a sanctuary, a stronghold, a q***r rebel base.
Wicked Eden is a 6,000 sq ft community space on Columbus's south side built for the people who spent years looking for somewhere they could simply exist as themselves — without having to explain, justify, or shrink who they are to do it.
We are operated by The Autonomy Project, a 501c3 nonprofit. There's no person or company making money here. Our building is community owned. Everything we do is for us, by us.
We run classes, workshops, events, game nights, creator rentals, fundraisers, arts programming, and a whole lot of people being their weirdest selves. On any given week you might walk into a consent workshop, a crafting night, a dance party, a drag or burlesque show, a board game event, or a room full of people learning something nobody ever taught them anywhere else.
And it will feel like coming home every single time.
We're proudly LGBTQIA+, s*x worker, BIPOC, neurodivergent, disabled, and alt-community affirming. We have multiple areas in our space for varying sensory needs, ample parking, a fully stocked concessions area, and so much more.
A few things we're NOT: a bar, a nightclub, a church, or a venue built around exclusion and gatekeeping. We're a weird, artsy community space that defies labels.
That means we survive because people show up.. to volunteer, teach, attend, and yes, occasionally stack chairs at the end of the night. Community isn't something you consume. It's something you build together.
If you're looking to learn, to dance, to play, to connect, to create, or just a place where being a little different isn't considered a problem — you found it.
