One of the most special moments of our concert this past weekend was a song that involved audience participation! This Call and Response song by Sarina Partridge was written for the Singing Resistance. Singing Resistance is a nationwide nonviolent movement, originating in Minneapolis in 2026, that uses vocal music and song to protest injustices like ICE actions, advocate for immigrant neighbors, and process community grief.

The next 3 featured quilt blocks from our Craftivism Art Quilt up for raffle are all by member Amanda Birch. The first is title “No Human is Illegal” featuring bold embroidery. The second is “Black Lives Matter” and the third is “Your Liberation is My Liberation”.

Amanda writes, “ I feel my three blocks say what is needed. I wish I could have made more as I wanted to include disability rights, and indigenous rights as I don’t think they were explicitly covered in the quilt squares. I would love for people to look back at this quilt in years to come and say that they have been able to create a more just and equitable world and continue the ongoing work to maintain that care and community.”

The next featured quilt square of our Craftivism Quilt and cover to our Spring concert is a created by Gerianne Morrison and focuses on protecting and safe guarding our natural environment.

Gerianne’s use of felt, pieces of plastic bags and string gives a three dimensional quality to her work.

“Caring for the earth is so fundamentally important to every living being on the planet. We could be an example to everyone in the world. But right now the USA has the greatest percentage of forest loss. Over 50% of the nations lakes and rivers do not meet
water quality standards. We are the only country that generates more waste than we recycle. We must “STOP” the polluting and deforestation so that future generations may live and enjoy the beauty of an abundant world“

The next featured quilt square of our Craftivism Club’s art quilt - a bold yellow block with a hand-printed linocut that says No More War. Black ink, clear message.
This block was created by our member Stephanie Evenson . This quilt block features a
linocut print. Linocut stamping involves
carving a rubber block and inking it to stamp
onto a surface, such as fabric.

We believe art is activism, and that a needle and thread can be just as powerful as a megaphone. 🕊️
Each square in this quilt was handmade by one of our members, and together they form something so much bigger than the sum of their parts.

We are raffling this quilt to benefit our chorus. Link for the raffle is in our bio. Come see the quilt in person at our upcoming Spring concerts April 25th and 26th.
