Tyrrell County 4-H is proud to celebrate the successful completion of our Water Safety Program! Last week, participants learned essential water safety and swimming skills, gaining the knowledge and confidence needed to stay safe around pools, lakes, and beaches.

Through fun, engaging, and supervised activities, our youth developed important life-saving awareness while building confidence in and around the water.

To celebrate their hard work and accomplishments, participants enjoyed a special trip to Lion’s Water Adventure for a day of fun, relaxation, and celebration. We are proud of all they achieved and look forward to seeing them continue to use these valuable skills for years to come!

On Friday, June 5, we visited Hardly Farm in Castalia, NC. During our visit, the children learned about forestry, including the essential resources trees need to grow and thrive.

The children also created a take-home craft featuring natural alpaca fiber that birds can use to build their nests. In addition, they learned about alpaca and llama care and had the opportunity to interact with the animals by petting and feeding the alpacas. As an added bonus, they enjoyed spending time with the farm's chickens, making the experience both educational and fun.
