For our meeting this month, we visited both Coesse and Northern Heights Elementary Schools to teach the fifth-grade students about how a bill becomes a law. Students were then able to role-play by creating their own bills, voting on them, and even vetoing them!

The Columbia City Youth Council is accepting applications for the 2026-2027 school year. Applications are open to current CCHS Freshmen.

This is a great opportunity to learn about local and state government from Mayor Ryan Daniel and to give back to the community through service projects. The CCYC meets monthly during school hours and transportation is provided.

The deadline is April 20, 2026, and all three parts of the application must be submitted.
