ionals, students, and educators. The purposes of the association are 1) preserving prehistoric and historic archaeological sites, information, and artifacts; 2) encouraging and participating in scientific investigations and research; and 3) fostering constructive public and governmental attitudes toward the archaeology of the State of Illinois and contiguous regions. The association and its members are opposed to the destruction, unauthorized excavation, or looting of archaeological sites and actively discourage commercialism in archaeological artifacts.

We helped Christina Youngpeter from Washington University travel to Turin Italy for an international conference related to her field of study and helped Autumn Melby from the University of Pennsylvania write a program template for archaeological societies and organizations to hold Archaeology Merit Badge events with Scouting America! The result of which was our first Merit Badge event at Camp Vandeventer last September.
