Obituary of David Eugene Stoddard Sr.
IN THE CARE OF
Alvah Halloran & Son Funeral Home
David Eugene Stoddard Sr., 74, of Springwater, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Canandaigua, David was the son of the late Howard and Frances Stoddard. He graduated from Bloomfield School in 1971. A skilled mechanic by trade, David initially worked for Roger Hawkins, who became a father figure to him. He later returned to the Bloomfield School district, dedicatedly serving as a mechanic there for 30 years and as head of transportation for a period of time.

David was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and golfing, but above all, he cherished his family. He was a proud member of the Sons of the American Legion (SAL) in Lima before transferring his membership to the Cohocton Legion.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Debbie Stoddard. He was a devoted father to Jerry (Michelle) Rogers, Jeff (Shallan) Rogers, David (Shannon) Stoddard Jr. and Danalyn (Scott) Clark. He was an adored grandfather to 11 grandchildren: Austin, Mackenzie, Devin, Savanna, Griffin, Payton, Dustin, Kylie, Ethan, Keegin, and Kasyn. He is also survived by his sisters, Carol and Kathy, and his brother, Eric.

David was predeceased by his sisters, Pat Lyke and Ruth Lyons; his brother, Chick Stoddard; and his daughter, Bobbi Jo Siccardi.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in David’s memory to the Cohocton Legion, the SAL (Sons of American Legion), or the Bristol Fire Dept.

A celebration of David's life will be held on Sunday June 14, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at the Bristol Fire Department, 4350 State Route 64 Canandaigua, NY 14424.
