Thank you TAPinto Coconut Creek for sharing our story. The severity of this disease combined with how highly contagious it is for horses, makes information sharing essential.

Currently, 8 horses at Tomorrow's Rainbow have fevers. We have 5 isolation areas requiring strict bio security measures.

We encourage anyone in the community with horses to be taking temperatures. While the urge might be to hide this disease from others due to the black cloud that follows, stigma is also an opportunity for humanity to show their best, compassionate selves. As with the many families that we serve…fault and blame have no place in this story. Thank you all for embracing us with positivity, love, and light.

A beloved therapy horse at Coconut Creek nonprofit Tomorrow's Rainbow has died as a contagious outbreak spreads through its herd.

The ranch is now under quarantine, but services for grieving children are continuing.

Heartbreaking Tomorrow’s Rainbow announcement.

Hi everyone, I wanted to update you on a serious situation at Tomorrow’s Rainbow.

We’re currently dealing with a Strangles outbreak in our herd, which is a highly contagious infection among horses. Two of our horses, Boo and Snickers, became ill, and it is with the heaviest of hearts that I share that Boo had to be hospitalized and was humanely euthanized yesterday due to complications. This has been an extremely difficult loss for our team and the entire Tomorrow’s Rainbow family.

Because Tomorrow’s Rainbow is a closed herd, this infection had to be introduced from an outside horse.

At this time, the mini ranch is under quarantine and we are following strict biosecurity protocols. Each horse is being closely monitored with twice daily temperature checks, and any horse showing symptoms will be isolated immediately.

We are still able to see clients, and there is no risk to people. The only concern is potential transmission between horses through contact, so clients and volunteers are asked not to visit or interact with other horses or horse facilities before or after coming to Tomorrow’s Rainbow.

As you can imagine, Tomorrow’s Rainbow is currently stretched emotionally, physically, and financially. Please send your love and light our way during this incredibly difficult time.

We are taking this very seriously and doing everything we can to protect the rest of our herd while continuing to show up for the children and families who need us. Boo would expect nothing less from us. Please join me in honoring Boo’s memory by leading with grace and hope during this difficult time.

Thank you all for your support, compassion and for sharing your heart with the Tomorrow’s Rainbow children, herd, staff, and volunteers. I am so grateful to call you family.

Boo Cohen, thank you for the most beautiful 23 years. You taught me that any journey worth taking wouldn’t be easy, but it would be totally worth the worry, effort, exhaustion, and tears. You were absolutely perfect. I am beyond blessed to have had you in my life.

With an abundance of gratitude,
Abby

🌊🦋 1 WEEK UNTIL HOPE FLOATS! 🦋🌊

In just one week, our community will come together for one of the most meaningful days of the year.

Hope Floats is more than an event… it’s a moment to remember, to honor, and to heal.

Families will decorate memorial boats with messages of love and release them into the New River — each one carrying the memory of someone deeply missed. 💙

If you could send one message to someone you’ve lost… what would it be?

At Hope Floats, families write messages on memorial boats before releasing them into the New River.

Messages like:

“I love you forever.”
“Thank you for being my dad.”
“I still feel you with me.”

On March 29, we’ll gather as a community to honor the people who will always live in our hearts.

Join us at Esplanade Park in Fort Lauderdale from 1–4 PM.
