Have you ever wanted to witness a massive loggerhead sea turtle nesting under the stars? Now is your chance! Tickets are still available for the Sea Turtle Walks on Wednesday, June 3rd and Thursday, June 4th.
This highly regulated, bucket-list experience is hosted by the Merritt Island Wildlife Association and guided by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.โจ
What to Expect:
Learn: An engaging presentation on sea turtle biology and conservation at the Refuge Visitor Center.
Explore: A guided night walk on the pristine shores of Playalinda Beach.
Witness: If nature cooperates, a respectful, up-close view of a loggerhead turtle laying her eggs.๐๏ธ
The Details:Cost: $25 for adults, $10 for youth ages 8โ15.T
ime: Starts at 8:00 PM (and can go as late as 11:00 PM).
Age limit: Minimum age is 8 years old.
Permit restrictions: Strictly limited to 30 participants per night to keep the turtles safe.
